Now if you could replace that high school team you open with, then you would have a "real" schedule.

Don't get too cocky. You still have Fort Lewis State and South Dakota State, along with a Cal Poly team that will be down from last year... with all those games at home.

Good move for the griz, though. At least you can look someone in the eye again when telling them your schedule.

Hmmmmmm When the Cats play up to Division 1A, it is a body bag game and we are so stupid and desperate to do it. Now that the friz are playing up , its a good thing??????

Actually, at least the friz can look themselves in the mirror again. The two D-II games was really bad.

I need held with my math : what percentage is 2 of 18 anyway?
If you graduated from the U of M you will need help with your math. So which of the three are you; tree hugger, poet or assistant manager at McDonald's? (Is it true that the most popular bar in Missoula is a gay bar called "The Mouthfull"?)

I know math must be hard for you. I've got a simpler one for you. Can you do 3 of 4?

Yeah, I like 3 of 4 as well. Has a nice ring to it.

This change gives the friz a credible schedule. I wonder why UO wanted to do it. Why would anyone disparage SDSU or Cal Poly?

I think the reasons OU wanted to play this game make sense. There is an article in the Missoulian about how the deal came together and OU stated the students aren't back yet, but Montana has a lot of fans and alums in the Northwest, plus there fans travel in big groups so OU is more likely to sell out their home opener when playing a team like Montana. Also the AD at OU was the AD at UM so that helps. Overall I think it is good for both teams.

The Oregon AD used to work in Mazzola with Reid and claims to be great friends of his, plus Reid coached the Ducks when they were pretty bad. 450k is only about 50k short of the going rate to play up and when UTEP cancelled because Price wants to get off to a good start, it was a "natural" fit. Think they'll drop Ft. Lewis? Makes our 250k look pretty bad going to Stillwater, though.

Here's the article:

certainly a very good deal for the friz. Any time they or we can play a Pac-10 team (particularly from Oregon or Washington), it's a good thing.

No 2 out of 4 is a ton easier for us UM students and former students. There is more pride in going to THE University of Montana than going to Montana A + M Bozeman..

Alright then, I didn't really think you could do 3 of 4, it's a tough problem for the math challenged - I should have known better. Math is not a problem at THE Montana State University. You'll have to wait until next November and we'll just give you the answer. Until then, study hard you UofMer's.

UMMMM probably isn't in the dictionary either, but it is the sound UM students make when trying to count 4 apples. :)

I was going to try and salvage this topic and just split of the smack crap, but after looking at it I don't know that I would have had any posts left in the original topic. If someone would actually like to TALK about UM's schedule change, they can start a new topic in the College Sports Forum.

Ok back to topic.....It was a great move for the Griz to play Oregon this season......and the payout is a good one to boot.....my question is Oregon is paying the Griz 450k and OSU is giving you 250k......does the athletic dept in Bozeman feel cheated?
