Griz/Bobcat

Post by MaZooLaGriz » Mon Nov 10, 2008 4:01 pm

This game is of course always worrisome, especially because it almost always means more to you than us. That's arguably the case this year with the Griz probably getting a bid no matter what, and with the Cats probably not getting a bid no matter what.

So it's the season for you and a host for us, but it's also Griz/Bobcat so let's have fun. Hope a ton of you can make it over here the night before. And of course please do stop by the tailgates - we'd be pleased to have you as honored guests. Well, safety tasters at least.

Are you mentaL? It matters just as much to the GED alum of um, if not more, than it does Cat fans. If it didn't the streak wouldn't be brought up every year, which it is.

Well, I guess we can take this thread directly to the smack board now. Lasted all of three posts. Wowee.

I am really looking forward to this game. We have a slight edge on the defensive side of the ball and a significant lead on the offensive side. All this adds up to another Griz win. Lets have fun at the annual GRIZ/cat game!!!!

The first sentence of your post is smak. You reap what you sow.

Perhaps. But it would be nice to actually talk actual football, even concerning that game. I know I'm just as bad as the next guy, but it is frustrating that what could have been a good thread turned immediately moronic.

Well since this is the first of the Cat\Griz threads... I'll throw in my two cents. The Griz have been winning games due to the turnover margin, and of course capitalizing on those turnovers. Literally I think they have been averaging 4 or 5 turnovers in their past 4 games??? They are very good at takeaways and I know they coach it, but there is some luck there as well. If we stay about even in the takeaway battle, it will go down to the wire. If we give them the ball 4 times like teams have been doing lately... we get smoked.

I would say defense is about even. I'd give the offensive nod to Montana. Special teams may be a slight lean toward MSU this year (and it's been awhile since I've thought that).

i'd say that msu is better stopping the run, and um is better stopping the pass. last time i checked we were 1 and 2 in total defense with the griz leading, but by less than 10 yards. both units are very good. their offense is better, but i like our ability on special teams better this year.

Wow. We actually agree on something.

:suds:

However, with all the injuries the Cats have sustained to their DL, I might give the Griz the slight nod on defense as well. I'd definately feel better about Cat/Griz game if MSU can keep players healthy this next weekend, and get a few players better over the course of a couple weeks...
