They were HUGE homers ( as will pointed out on his twitter and blog). So let me start by pointing out my favorite call of the day.

"Bobby Howard was handed a golden ticket when he was offered by the griz. All he had to do was take it, instead he chose MSU"

Are you sh**ing me?

I didn't get to see the game, but just reading your post made me throw up in my mouth a bit.

Thanks RTB

You know there is a side of me that still thinks that this could not have happened, and you guy's are yanking my chain. This seems SOOOO over the line it is ridiculous. I guess I will find out.

OK I am Fick'n Flabergasted!!

I have talked to a few people today and got the same story. I talked to a few people at MSU and they were not aware of this, but given they also were at the game and not watching on TV they were not aware of anything but wanted to check the tape. So after some thinking about it I decided to go strait to the source, I wrote the following email to Mr. Buck
Mr. Buck

I have been told that during the Bobcat / Griz men’s game in the second half you or your color guy made the following comments.

"Bobby Howard was handed a golden ticket when he was offered by the Griz. All he had to do was take it, instead he chose MSU"

I was at the game so I did not get the chance to watch your coverage but I have been told that the comment was made, by more than one person. I would take exception to this comment if it was indeed made, but I thought I would be strait up and ask you directly.

Have a great Day
I always have had a problem in posting online an email someone sent verbatim without their permission but this email response was only 12 words long and it is impossible to shorten or paraphrase without changing something. here is the response.
I remember the comment being made, but it wasn't made by me.
I still have not got the official quote but I don't think it varies much if at all from what was posted. I am sitting hear wondering what the @%&8

OK listen I am used crappy announcers from KPAX, and at the ripe old age of 48 I have seen my fair share of sh!tty called game by this organization (and others). I am kind of used to it and I always set my expectations low. As an old fart sometimes you just get tired of bitching and banging your head against the wall. When Will Holden wrote his piece on the Bozeman Chronicle Blog I thought good for him finally someone has called KPAX out on this, because I am too lazy. This though, sounds like an all time low for KPAX.

As complete Bobcat basketball nut I am pissed off beyond belief that they would have the balls to denigrate the Bobcat program like that, but just on a professional level this seems such a brain dead, amateuristic, why the hell would you even think this would be an OK thing to say, Mr Color commentator, who Buck did not want to mention.

Public apology to everyone. I had a hard time believing that the above quoted comments were made for the reasons I have tried to articulate above. I did not want to go off half cocked unless I was sure that something close to was quoted was actually said. This thread was started off with the idea posting the most outrageous announcer quote of the game, well SACCAT came up with a whopper. Not only is it the most outrageous call of the game, it is the most outrageous call that i have heard in 30 years of watching these thing.

I am going to have to think about this.

I am going to have to think about this.
Trust me, I had to rewind the game about 4-5 times just to make sure I heard it correctly. I could not believe it myself.

P.S. My wife told me to let it go about the 5th time i watched it. I told her something and had to sleep on the couch. I should blame KPAX for my back pain now.

Isn't that the griz way try to make other players and fans of other teams feel some way unworthy to their all mightey reign. Give me a break, when I heard the color guy say what he said about Bobby Howard all I could think was what the hell his dad would think if he actually heard the comment. And to take it a step further what would Bobby say to the bastard that made this comment, if ask the question to his face.

I think that the griz color and/or radio announcers should be recomended for the show tool accademy. I don't recomend anybody to watch the show, mostly because the people on it have no sense at all, but for this reason alone the griz announcers qualify.

Actual quote took place at the 5:13 mark in the second half. Howard just finishes shooting some free throws and color guy Shane Ewing says the following:

“A guy who had the option to come to Missoula if he wanted, a golden ticket, all you have to do is reach out and take it, decides to go to Bozeman.”

A golden ticket to where? Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory?

Ewing must be a f*ckin' Oompa-Loompa.
