MSU = 1 fcs loss

um = 3 fcs losses (5 fcs wins)

interesting to see the griz end at 7-4 . . . perhaps even 6-5...

What will be interesting is seeing the cats at 8-3, with their best record in two and half decades!

Who was President when you last had 8 wins, again?

Yeah, poor, poor me. :roll:

Hey, I've readily admitted this has been a down year for the Griz. But I'll also point out that a "down" year by Griz standards equals the BEST year the cats have had in nearly three decades!! So, don't feel too badly for me, TI. I've had 27 years of winning, championship football to watch.

But I will agree with you on one point: The run the Griz are on (yes, it's far from over; see 1998, 2005) is pretty darn effin insane, 'dude'.

Funny how now you brag on about your team's championships. I thought they were "mythical" and "irrelevant". ****** hypocrite. ](*,) :bs:

And by the way, your beloved (but completely irrelevant, by your own admission) Grizzlies must win out. You talk like they are already at 8-3...

Yeah, but they have a "quality win", they beat a 5-4 team that has 4 division I wins, and was ranked at one point in the season, so the comittee will see that and let them in with 6 division I wins :lol: :lol:

Ummmm...where did I mention championships again??? Please point that out to me, and then perhaps we can have a discussion about whatever you feel is hypocritical about what I've posted because I'm soooo interested in hearing it....

1998 and 2005 were "mythical" years for the griz (by your own admission).....
Ask 1,000 people on the street who won the Division One national championship last year. None of them will answer "Villanova". That doesn't take anything away from the accomplishment. But it IS a mythical national championship.

Shhhheeeeeesh. I didn't think I'd have to teach a history course here.

UM did NOT win titles in 1998 and 2005. What they did do in those years was "struggle" (by Griz standards) with 8-win seasons. I used those two years because they so closely parrallel what is happening this year, and to highlight that one "bad" year of 8 wins doesn't mean a program is falling. What it means, as was clearly indicated in 1998 and 2005, after a team has 3 or 4 years of success at the highest level, there is bound to be some drop. An FCS team can't send 9 players to the NFL over a span of 3 years and not expect to see a "drop off" to 8 or 9 wins.

So, I guess in a nutshell what I'm saying is this: All of you who believe the end of the Griz run is over probably better study history a little closer. If anything, this "down" season doesn't portend good things for the rest of the BSC, because I think we all have a pretty good understanding about what the Griz did in years shortly after 98 and 2005.

Man, if I had one measly dollar for everytime someone on here posted that "This/next year is the year the Griz are going DOWN!", I'd be wealthy enough that I wouldn't need to waste work time posting on this board 'cause I wouldn't be working....

no disagreement there. but with most things...there are two sides to this coin...

if i had a measly dollar for everytime a griz fan claimed their beloved griz would never have another losing season and would never miss the playoffs i too would be very wealthy! lets face it...all sports teams at all levels rise and fall. every single one of them. there is not one shred of evidence to say that the university of montana football team will be the first team in the history of athletic competition that will be on top forever....
