I seldom visit the site, and never posted anything, but ocassionally make a visit to see what the "dark side" is up to.

There are a few obnoxious "Fiz" posts on this site, but the backbiting amongst their own people has gone to the point on e.Griz that the moderator is about to throw in the towel. See "Chime In!" at e.Griz.

I think we have a great site and for the most part maintain our civility.

When dealing with the "dark side" it's mostly fun because Cat/Griz is such a great rivalry.

I like to think those from MSU are a little more sensible, better grounded in their expectations, aspirations, and viewpoints. Besides, we don't have any degrees that naturally lend themselves to an argumentive stance and frame of mind. I seriously can't talk to very many of their products. Usually the older ones that have had an opportunity to get away from their professors and see the real world. But you're right, it is a lot of fun to go in and read some of the posts  You think the moderator is going to pull the plug and write a book?

Not unless he's going to write about a bunch of drugged out whackos. Might be a good thesis project for one of their "psych" or "philosophy" PHD candidates to work on though  .

Egriz is, in general, not a bad board. There are a few posters there who like to argue, but the vast majority of the trouble on that board is caused by one poster (a guy who, by any possible definition of the word, is probably insane, has been banned from egriz before, and has been banned twice now from the UGMB board).

I do have to give Bobcatnation credit for being a more civil board, although with the amount of traffic egriz gets, it's inevitable that a crazy poster or two will show up, and as this board becomes more popular, I'm sure an unruly poster or two will end up here, too.

I'll give you this Quast, no one knows how to "handle the Sausage" like you do.

Trust me, there is no one on this board that isn't completely mellow compared to the poster who's causing all the trouble on egriz (whose name need not be mentioned). I'm never shy about arguing when I disagree with things, but I try to do it respectfully, and only get nasty when others do the same -- with this particular person, every debate seems to end with actual threats of physical violence. I would question why it is that the mods over there haven't banned him, but past experience tells us that it won't matter; he'll just get a new username and start up again.

And with that, I'm signing out, probably for the weekend. I'll drink a beer in all of your collective honor tonight, and another at the friend's bachelor party that I'll be attending tomorrow night.

Cheers,
