The T.V announcer for Griz games needs to grow a pair.

A couple weeks ago I admit I tuned in to the EWU vs. UM game to watch the throttle put on by the eagles at Washington Grizzly Stadium of all places.
As I watched I repeatedly had to throw up listening to the t.v announcer for the griz. I still havn't decided if he is a male cheerleader or if he visited neverland ranch one time too many.
C'mon can't the griz find somebody that knows what they're talking about when commentating on football.

I repeatedly had to throw up reading this. "Commentating"? In ENGLISH, the word is "commenting". Well, at least you didn't say "commentationing". I recall a thread on this board criticizing a writer for the Bozeman newspaper because he was not a "fan" of State.

Are you serious. Don't you wish you could delete what you just put. You don't think commentating is a word. You obviously never attended a University at all.
Here is your first big kid school lesson of the day. Check this site out it will help you in future posts.

Sorry. I was wrong about the wording. Thanks for the correction Grizband. I still think it's curious that State fans criticize Bozeman reporters because they are not "fans" of state, and criticize Missoula announcers wheny they are cheering the Griz.

The current Grizzly comenatator is annoying to listen to, IMO.
Thats why in Griz land you mute the TV and turn up the radio to listen to Mick & BearBAC err...I mean Gurns.

The only part of that which I was supposed to quote was asking you what school you went to in B-Town.

never listened to a griz game so i cant comment but i will say that i dont like any commentators who seem to root for the home team. seems to me that they should be impartial, and just report what they see. the dude covering the cat games does this a little too. to me, the perfect commentator would be one that if a guys tuned into the cat - griz game, and he never heard of either team, that he would have no idea who the commentator was working for, because he would never let on. imho.

I thought that at first too but then over the last few years KECI had Tom "bob" Katz, while a "homer" drives me nuts, even a Griz homer, Tom made a point of being neutral by becoming a partial fan of whoever the Griz were playing. It seemed to be his attempt to move on to bigger things, it was annoying.
How would you like to watch a Bobcat football game on TV and the local announcer is seemingly supporting the Bobcat's opponent more than the Cats.
That said the current dude with KECI is a total homer, annoying, and an annoying voice as well.

Huh. Wonder how the Greater Montana Foundation could be so wrong, for so long, since they just awarded that show the BEST RADIO SHOW IN MONTANA FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW.
He he he. We just love 'em.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE COMMENTATING. I'VE SEEN THAT A LOT TOO. ACTUALLY, I DONT KNOW WHO IT IS, BUT THE DUDE WHO COVERS THE CAT GAMES DOES A LITTLE OF BOTH. DURING THE WEBER GAME I WAS GETTING SO ANNOYED BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE HE WAS A WEBER ALUMNI! BUT A COUPLE WEEKS LATER WHEN WE WERE AT PSU, IT WAS COMPLETELY OPPOSITE. I WAS ALMOST EMBERRASED BECAUSE HE WAS CLEARLY PLAYING FAVORITES TO MSU. I GUESS WE CANT WIN HUH? GO CATS!

I think that your own announcers hired by the school should have a slight lean towards the home school, that's part of YOUR radio broadcast. When you are a fan listening to your team's game on your radio, you want the point of view delivered from your same point of view. I mean, it doesn't have to be a drastic bias, but I think Kris Atteberry does a really good job for Cat games just as Dean Alexander used to do. At the end of the day, they're Cat fans, but they deliver the game as it happens. I think the bias on the Griz TV presentation is a little over the line, every play a Grizzly makes is UNBELIEVABLE - last week Dustin Dlouhy was BSC Player of the Year from the sounds of things for a while.

I think what everyone is trying to say is that the TV announcers for the Griz gush over almost every play the griz make, bitch and moan about plays called against them, and disrespect/belittle the other team. Then when they lose, they act like a little kid who didn't get his way - they pout. Especially the REALLY annoying guy.
