Bad news for UM Athletes

On my way into work this morning I got to hear a little UM President on the radio. He was talking about the demise of the infamous intersection period between between Fall and winter semesters at UM. By 2007-08 it should be as good as gone. The time period between the semesters should be reduced to about 2-3 weeks, thus some small classes might be available (Recreation and Sports 510 - underwater basket weaving , Recreation and Sports 430 - How to teach handball to lefties), but really not tough hard hitting classes that a lot of students like to get ahead on (Chemistry 304A - Understanding the basic chemical composition of basketball )

On a side note UM will also move up the end of the school year to April which should also effect the spring football schedule.

Hold the presses Griz Athletes!! After receiving numerous email complaints yesterday afternoon, Dennison switch direction and he will retain the intersession. Tell me what does this say about the decision making process or the UM President when after much thought he comes out with a major change to the UM system, but in less than 12 hour he retracts that decision. Was it really that well thought out to begin with or is he really that wishy washy!!

This is a rather ironic thread coming from fans of a program which lost scholarships because their "student" athletes couldn't measure up to what are -- let's be frank -- rather meager requirements.

Don't bring reality into this thread, that's not what BN is about. It's more about making msu into a better school than it really is, and disparaging UM, because their football and basketball teams haven't measured up in recent years.

Upon driving back to Vegas from the national semifinal game in Missoula this past weekend, we stopped in Dillon. Pulled into the subway, ordered a sub, and went to pay for it. As I was paying the girl noticed my Montana sweatshirt and said, "You guys got killed last night!, I graduated from MSU so I was happy!" "You graduated from MSU?", I replied. "yep, class of 01", she stated. "Well that explains the whole sandwhich artist thing!" had the whole line of sub buyers laughing it up at her expense.
