I know there has been a lot of controversy about the team this year, Durham especially, but I just want anyone who is reading this to know we support the Cats 100%! None of us would even be on this message board if we weren't die-hard Cat fans to begin with. Many of us may want Mick out, many of us may want him to stay, but let's not worry about that until the offseason, because nothing will change this season. Instead, let's all support the Cats 100% and let them know it!
Go Cats, 3-0 in conference is a great start! Good luck with the season, I'll try and make it over to Boze for a few games here and there!

Re: Basketball - Durham/Cats
I hear you, I didn't necessarily say he needed to go ... I just expect a lot better from him and he has been coming through lately with his coaching/defense/team play lately and I think its definately helping the team. So kudos to Durham on getting with it and molding this team into as the season goes on. He deserves A LOT of credit for that. Sometimes to fuel the fire, you need to stoke the fire.CelticCat wrote:I know there has been a lot of controversy about the team this year, Durham especially, but I just want anyone who is reading this to know we support the Cats 100%! It doesn't surprise me that the crowd got on Casey Durham. After all he is the coach's son and he plays all out in your face defense all over the court. What bothered me is that it appeared the refs didn't give him the benefit of the doubt on the calls. He was pushed and elbowed and knocked down repeatedly and the refs just called fouls on him like they didn't like him either. Then they reprimanded him for playing that agressive style.
He doesn't however exude a sympathetic personna...he kind of baited the crowd. I hope he doesn't turn into another Sam Riddle type that everybody likes to hate. I know we all appreciate his hustle. Also I would appreciate if he would STOP SHOOTING in critical spots. He's just not the "go to" guy yet!

Yeah, that was sure pathetic referring. First Durham gets shoved down by Martin, then a few plays later he gets pretty much ELBOWED/knocked down again. Martin comes over showing him the ball and taunting him and the Ref comes over to Durham and gives HIM a lecture. I couldn't believe that. But you know what, thats what IN YOUR FACE defense can do the crowd/other players. You can get in their heads. Its going to be nice having a pesky in your face player like Durham in the future.Helcat72 wrote:It doesn't surprise me that the crowd got on Casey Durham. Good point! If you have a guy that can keep that kind of defense up and not throw a fit when he does get knocked down etc. then you really can effect the other team mentally as well as cause turnovers. The biggest thing we need is for Casey to just roll with it and not get upset himself.CARDIAC_CATS wrote:But you know what, thats what IN YOUR FACE defense can do the crowd/other players.
