TBG I heard Memorial Coliseum as well - with 12 - 13,000 seats it makes more sense than the Rose Garden. Also read the PSU wants to keep it at their gym for the home court advantage.

I seriously doubt Fullerton wants it in Missoula or Bozeman - he doesn't care about attendance, he cars about attention, and holding it in Portland might get him a 3rd page paragraph in the Oregonion, and a 15 second snipet on Portland TV. In Missoula or Bozeman the Portland media might list the score in the paper.

The Rose Garden is definitely out. The Blazers have a home game the same night as the Championship game.

It all depends on how the Ducks are doing. Portland is far more obsessed with the athletic goings on in Eugene than Eugene is.
In 2002, we were there for the Portland State game, which made page 6 of the sports section of the Oregonian after the Ducks and Beavers coverage. When we went to Spokane, the Griz game was front page news, over the Huskies win over Oregon and the Wazzu game.

Posting late on MSU pulling their shirts.....

I would say Justin Domenick shooshing the Griz crowd after scoring a TD is worse than this.........and that's not even too horrendous.

Griz fans (atleast the majority I've talked to) aren't offended. You nail a game winner with almost no time left........I agree and as much as I hate to: Happy Cats. I do think it's a good idea for Krysko to use it as motivation, but if any fans are complaining -- look at the Artest video and then try to complain.

It's the same as Dan Trammell doing a backflip after knocking off MSU the time they hosten the conference tourney. You just beat your biggest rival in their house, I'd be shocked if you weren't going bonkers.

I am gonna go to my first BSC b-ball game in over 10 years. The CATS had better win. I'll take the CATS in a tight one. Maybe 1-3 points. Free throws will be the difference late.

  I agree no problem with the itchy shirt pull. But I prefer the Backflip. If anybody on either team can do the back flip I think it is appropriate win or lose and at any point in the game. Just think what would happen to Portland State's three quarter court press if a Cat or Griz goes back flipping down the side. Or maybe the three big guys could flip after every three against Portland State. Unfortunately Monte is the only one who does the three backflips consistenly. Cheerleaders sometimes go the length of the court. I assume we have seen the last of the shirt pull and players back flipping. Marvin Moss talked to the press and said he is not giving interviews (not talking to the press) and will let his playing do his talking. Kamarr Davis said Moss ran by the bench and smiled at him everytime Moss made a basket in Missoula. Davis has lost a tiny bit of weight but we have not seen any signs of a back flip at this point.

In this day and age, I'm more surprised when someone isn't talking smack. A guy could really stick out if he just didn't say anything. That would probably be a form of smack.

"Who's he think he is? Gets a dunk then he 'hustles' back down the court and starts looking for the guy he's supposed to be guarding. Acting like he's all modest. That pisses me off, I'll remember that for next time we play them. Damn upstanding citizens anyway."

i would not worry about smacktalk but a shove or 2 when the ref ant looking - they showed the griz up in missoula and i am sure a player or 2 from the U is pissed. To be honest i could care less about the flip or the jersey pulls, i just pray that our guys know that how they react to tonights game if we win can be used as motivation and one does not need any more playing the state rivals

I was off on the points but I'm having people at work call me Nostradamus.

Here's to MSU hosting the tournament and another Cat/Griz game for the masses. Hopefully this time the Griz show up and not some thugs. What the hell?

Did I hear someone saying something about a revenge factor and MSU feeling pressure?

Actually ctowm the ladies went on a huge run late or you might've nailed that one.

We should start an odds-making business. Better yet, we should ref a game in the Big Sky. We'd have to get drunk first to make sure we were only slightly better than what we've seen so far.

...a book I highly recommend now out is Crooked Zebras...I'm starting to feel the old coach will hit some pretty sore nerves. I can't believe how sorry our conference officials are.

grizindabox wrote:I think the outcome of each game will be directly associated to how both the Lady Cats and the Cats shoot the three ball. If the Lady Cats shoot the three well, I could see a game like the one in Missoula, if not Lady Griz by double digits. If the Cat men shot the three well, they win by about 8, if not, it goes to the wire, with free throws making the final score seem not as close as the game reallly will be.

I was so right on with my analysis (pat on back).
