Montana State's various post-season scenarios can be summarized as follows:
Assuming that UM's RPI is higher than CSUS's RPI at season's end, MSU wins the league if it ties Portland State at 10-4 ... unless: (a) CSUS d. NAU and (b) NAU defeats UM.
If UM's RPI falls below that of CSUS (which is nearly mathematically impossible), then 3 or 4 additional scenarios allow PSU to claim the regular-season title even if tied with MSU at 10-4 but for now we'll just assume that UM's RPI will remain sufficiently higher.
MSU finishes third if it goes 0-2 in its final 2 games *and* either (a) UM goes 3-0 (in which case UM is #2) or (b) PSU finishes 2-0 and EWU finishes 2-0 and ISU beats WSU and CSUS beats NAU (in which case CSUS is #2).
Except for in these aforementioned scenarios, MSU finishes 2nd...
Spread the good word around the state this week and encourage everyone to attend this week's games. The 'Cats have been tough at home lately, at least in part due to loud, supportive, enthusiastic crowds.
