Corky Lindsay and Eddie Smith

Post by HelenaCat95 » Wed May 12, 2004 10:35 am

If you follow the link and click on Lindsay and Smith you will get to see about 5 minutes each of game film on each of these transfers we are getting. While I am not an expert by any means in translating game film, these guys look good, and are FAST FAST FAST.
I'm curious as to others impressions

WOW! \:D/

I dont know what I was more impressed with between those two, their speed, their hard hitting, or their overall aggresive styles of play. Love the fact that we will be replacing a Smith for a Smith on return teams. Hopefully Eddie will take over right where Corey left off and continue the tradition of MSU's explosive return teams.

I thoroughly enjoyed those highlight clips, MSU is getting a couple studs to throw in the mix with Ryan Force/Toff Grenfeld and Kiaham Hunter.

I am starting to feel a little better about our defensive backfield - but will continue to be nervous until I see it first hand at Reno H.

Nice find, definately cool to watch those. After watching the clips of Smith as a return man I don't feel quite as bad not having Corey Smith next year, hopefully he can do that here as well.

Kind of hard to get a good feel for their coverage styles, at least for me, as most clips I didn't know which player to be watching until after the ball was thrown. One thing that I didn't really like was their open field/run support tackling. Maybe it was just because it was highlight tape and they wanted to show the big hits, but it sure seemed like both guys(Lindsay especially) seemed to hit high and hard and rely on that to knock the ballcarrier down rather than giving a good hit and wrapping up.

If these 2 guys are the real deal (especially Smith), this Cats team defense has the makings of #1 defense again in Big Sky. Even surpassing last years defense if he can pure man to man cover. Our front 7 should be unreal and deep this year.

Great post. When you have some time take a look at #35, the fullback. Does not like to go down!
