Can I pick all of the above? Seriously, this Cat team really seems to be a team with no true "star" out there. Every game a different person seems to pick up the slack and have a great game. Even going with the "who would they miss most" definition rather than best player would be tough to decide as it seems almost everyone has had an off night at some point and others have been able to pick up the slack. Tough one and I really don't know who I could choose above anyone else.

Yea I had a real hard time choosing, but I picked Moss soley because he was the quickest to develop and was basically the only bright spot on this team until everyone followed suit. Al Beye should be MVP for putting butts in the seats, and Jefferson deserves a nod too... and Diss... I can't really pick one, but I still go with my choice of Moss.

Really i will agree with you that this was a "team effert" but , I really hate hate the "pick the whole team " concept. It may be closest to the truth, but it is also a bit of a cop out. I had two people on the list Beye and Jefferson. Beye brought people into the stands and a great energy, but, Jefferson brought his game every single game, and especially after Brown problem he stepped up and became a leader if not vocally, but in example. Moss, Beye Dissly, all came up big this season but Jefferson brought stablility and confidence to this team. Besides anyone who hits a game winning shot against the Griz always gets my vote.

Jefferson was my favorite player and my favorite for MVP. He was so consistent. He was the only one who consistently took the ball to the basket, got fouled, scored...and hit the boards as hard as a power forward. He also was the main one who looked for Al when he got in the paint. At 6-0 he was as close as we had to a physical presence other than Moss.

I think that if Dissly would have played the whole season like he has for the last 4 or 5 games, he would most definately be my MVP. He has stepped up his game so much recently on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. I think that if he continues his play in the tournament you could see the cats in the NCAA's.

Agreed. The reason I picked Dissly was because of his overall stats. He usually ends up in the top three in every possible stat column at the end of the game (points, boards, steals, assists, blocks), and can do it all. He has also been coming on as of late. But no doubt, Ja'Ron is the firecracker. I still can't get over his leaping ability - he can SKY!!BTBCat wrote:I think that if Dissly would have played the whole season like he has for the last 4 or 5 games, he would most definately be my MVP. Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

This has been a pretty interesting team. It seems like they have each been the "go to" guy at invaluable times through the season. However, I have to give Dissly and the other returning players a lot of credit for enabling a bunch of JC recruits to turn into a team. He has shown, with his unselfish style of play, that you don't have to be putting up a lot of points to be a key player. Does everybody remember Nebraska, the blow out, but also the turning point for this ball team? Diss wasn't playing in that game. He had a sprained ankle. What was the final deficit? 40 points? What was the diagnosis? A bunch of JC transfers playing selfish ball. I think if I had to pick one player that we couldn't win without, it would be Diss.
Keeping track of the CATS!
