Still no official release, but as I was driving into work this morning caught Chris Attebury giving the sports update on XL country and he said that we were filling all four scholarships. Three high school and one JC. Hopefully MSU will put something out soon.

Century point guard chooses Montana State

Jacques Wilson
what's this?
POCATELLO - At around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, Jacques Wilson received a phone call from Chawn Jones, a Montana State recruit out of Lancaster, Calif. The two spoke a few times in the last month, figuring if they both committed to play for the Bobcats, they'd be roommates.
Jones called to let Wilson know his decision.
"I'm going," Jones told him.
Wilson announced Wednesday that he is, too. After a few weeks of deliberation, Wilson committed to Montana State, choosing the Big Sky school over Idaho State, where his father, Louis, coaches.
Wilson came to his decision in the last few days after talking things through with his father. Montana State was the only school Wilson visited, and, in the end, he decided its location (Bozeman, Mont.) allowed him to remain close with his father while extending his boundaries.
"Would I love to play for my dad? Of course," Wilson said. "But sometimes you have to walk down your own path as a man. My dad and I decided this was the best choice for me."
Wilson believes he's the ideal guard for the Bobcats' fast-paced offense. At Century, he became an exceptional three-point shooter as well as an adept passer. Montana State's freewheeling style should afford him freedom to showcase both talents.
"We see him as a guy whose best basketball is ahead of him," Montana State coach Mick Durham said. "Being a coach's kid, he's been around the ISU program. He really understands the game."
Durham said he may redshirt Wilson to give him another season to learn point guard. Before this season, Wilson was a shooting guard.
"He hasn't been a point guard his whole life, and it's not an easy position to learn right away," Durham said. "You have to be patient with him. But we think he has the potential to be a good one."
Wilson played his junior and senior seasons at Century after moving from Georgia. He worked closely with his father in the last two years, sometimes practicing at Reed Gym before dawn.
This past season, Wilson revamped his shot, improved his passing and learned to play point guard. After helping the Diamondbacks to a 4A state title in his junior year, Wilson became one of Southeast Idaho's premiere players this season. He averaged 18.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, five assists and almost three steals. He dropped more than 30 points twice and led Century to a third-place finish in the state tournament.
"For him to come in here, play two years and sign a Division I scholarship says an awful lot about his ability," Century coach Cody Shelley said. "He turns people's heads."
Wilson joins Matt Stucki as the two players in Century history to claim Division I scholarships. Stucki, who graduated in 2002, will be a freshman at Idaho State next season. He's returning from his LDS mission.
At Montana State, Wilson plans to major in business and possibly communications. His goal is to remain active in basketball, even after college.
"I'm going to try to keep playing," Wilson said. "I want to play professionally, be it overseas or wherever."
For now, Wilson looks forward to learning to play with Jones, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward. The two will get to know each other on campus this summer for six weeks while they work out and take a couple classes.
"I saw him on film," Wilson said. "He dunks on everyone. He wears a size 17 shoe. It's going to be a lot of fun."

That sounds pretty good. I believe Attebury also added that it was two guards, a forward and a forward/center. I couldn't remember exactly which is why I left it out originally but that seems to fit with your guess.mslacat wrote:My Guesskmax wrote:Still no official release, but as I was driving into work this morning caught Chris Attebury giving the sports update on XL country and he said that we were filling all four scholarships.
