84 Team
I was looking at the 84 playoff numbers and the defense obviously played great throughout. I seem to remember that we won most of our conference games that year by out scoring the other team. Was the D that good all year or just peaked during the playoffs? Who were the D stars on that team?

The D stars were many:
Lonnie Burt DT, Helena...plugged the middle, squated 700 pounds
Mark Fellows, DE, Choteau, drafted by San Diego recordholder for sacks in season and career
Tex Sekora, DE, Billings...kept Roberts on his feet. 4th in career sacks
Clete Linebarger, DE/LB, Conrad, speed from the edge, caused most fumbles at MSU in career
Joe Roberts, db, Billings, 97-yard Int for TD vs. Rhode Island in semis
Rodney Holland, cb, L.A. (?) shut down corner
Kirk Timmer, LB, Boulder, among the best tacklers in school history, most tackles in team history
Troy Timmer, DT, Boulder, plugged middle with Burt
Doug Kimball, db, Chester, holds school record for INTs in season and game. 2nd in career ints.
All were All-Conf. players
Other than that I don't really recall much about this team.

The thing I remember about that team and the Defense was that they always came up with the big play when we needed it ie. big stop or turnover.
I was young so I only remember the highlights of that year and I remember a lot from the Defense.

The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.
