Summer Workouts.

Cut the trip short this summer because the high schools are getting ready to issue equipment this weekend, the first weekend they can start practicing in GA and FL--seems like it should be next week but their seasons are getting longer every year. The Fort Myers papers ran an excellent series about summer conditioning programs for high school athletes. The coaches don't seem to want to spend as long getting kids in shape as what I remember, plus when they're working toward the big paychecks and scholarships, there's a lot of internal motivation.

Still upset the Georgia schools get away with recruiting scholars who can also play sports and it doesn't count against their scholarship limits  But, that's another subject but one we could take advantage of also--maybe we already are and I just don't know of any "walkons" contributing

Here is a great article on what the Washington State football players do in the summer for workouts/conditioning.

Anyone know how close/different this is from what the Cats do?

Another good article (actually a series of articles) about summer workouts for several pro teams, and several pro players.

Cool articles - thanks for posting them. But to echo, what did the Bobcats do over the summer - surely somebody has some info...

Great time to be a BOBCAT!
