The 3-4 is not stopping the run.
I wonder if that is because we are missing our 2 great linebackers or is it simply not working?

I think injuries plays a pretty big part in it. Lowe, Mac, and Kolone are all out, and are all major players on the D. I have been impressed with the backups so far, especially Daly, but I'd be lying if I said the return of these guys won't help us very much.

I hope you are right and the return of these guys will fix things but I am not quite sure that will do it. It is probably a combination of things, but all I can say is I hope we can fix the run D by the time Lex comes to town.

Clive Lowe weighs something in the neighborhood of 230. Clayton Curley is listed at 195? Teams have had success attacking the edge because Curley isn't big enough to handle a tackle or a tight end. He keeps getting pinned on the edge. Lowe will make a huge difference.

If we get Mac & Lowe back, we'll be fine; imagine that line up the way King, Marudas, and Daly are playing right now. Maybe we'll switch to the 2-5??
Look at what our wounded D has done in the 2nd half of the last 2 games. One thing you guys are forgetting is that we're not giving up a lot of BIG plays; we're making teams earn their points 4-6 yards at a time. I think that goes a long way toward explaining why Weber could only get up by 7 in the first half, despite a dominant ground game.
I'm not about to say I'm not concerned about PSU, but we are the definition of the bend/don't break defense right now. Look at it this way, WSU was a dropped pass away from 26 points @ WaGriz and we gave them 24 at their place.
Keep the faith, Bobcats. Keep the faith...

the defense did ok today...timely ints...nice half time adjustments...i did not see any significant injuries today on defense so we should be fine against portland...i think we will be that much better this coming weekend stopping the run...while backs have had good days against us in the first half we have been able to pretty much stop them in the second half...
the game plan wasn't that far off...gatewood sure was tho...if he catches what he is supposed to the game is never in doubt...weber is a solid team and will be a force next year...
actually i think the rest of the year is going to be similar so buckle your seat belt it is going to be interesting...now i am going to take another arrythmia pill and try to chill...

I think the defense has really been hampered by the injuries, including the preseason injuries, ie Andy M. and now Kolone, but if not for their TD and then shutting out Weber in the fouth quarter yesterday, we would really be hurting today.

Rubin's the best RB in league - he'll get 200 against the Cats. I don't think that will translate to a Vik win...but, he's gonna have a huge night, I think.
