Vegas,

I was thinking of the current DE's playing in the 3-4. Aren't they considered DT's anyway? Papich, Siataga, Kolone, Saucedo and Rothenberger could make a heck of a DT rotation in a 4-3. Don't forget we do possibly get Hoffenbacker next year as well. Saucedo could move back to offense and we would be set I think.

GO CATS!!

Then the DEs for next year would be all NEW fast guys in the style of Lowe. That the current DEs would be to big and slow?

Just a guess
You could move some of the LBs to DE too. Cordeiro, Ross, Taylor all came in as a LBs and made the move to DE and/or DT.
Yes but all three of them played DE at 255lbs. with quickness and great technique. The guys we have that are quick are very small and get eaten up on run defense and the guys we have on the line this year are slow. We will probably need several transfers to have a quality line. I finally see one of the biggest differences between D-1 and D-1AA. At D-1 they have very quick 300 lbs lineman at D-1AA we have slow 270 lbs lineman.

We need a guy like Chris (Cal poly DE) or Fosmark (Weber DE). One of those makes a huge difference.

I figured that that is what you meant. Having Lowe at a DE again would be great. Having Lowe back period will be great!

Defensive line personnel back for next year, from ESPN.com

Class is as of this year

DE:
JR:Clive Lowe (still listed as DE, can Play DE), Andy Matakis, Ryan Cogley(Career over, right?)
SO:Aaron Papich
FR:Sean Neill

DT:
JR:Jason Macciola, David Siataga, Sky Johnson(?)
SO:none
FR:Chris Kolone, Dylan Kinkelaar

DL:
JR:Joe Rothenberger
SO:none
FR:Joe Schreibeis, Brandon Hoffenbacker, Matt Peebles

NT:
JR:none
SO:none
FR:Louis Saucedo

Looking at our LB's, only 3 come back that have seen significant playing time this season: Bobby Daly, Epikopo King, Grant Elliott. Maybe Dan Ashley, Wes Mauia have seen some, but wow. Losing Curley, Marudas, and Mollohan is a big blow.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
