Injury News from Chronicle
As reported in today's Chronicle:
RB: Gathing out for the season with knee surgery, Domenick back this week to back up Milton.
WR: Gatewood will start at slot WR. (My comments: Presumably he, Guinn, Roosevelt, and Sullivan will all get time though, Sullivan has definitely earned it in my opinion)
TE: Wolf expected to play
OL: Bolton expected to play, Hirst may be back in mid-October!
LB: Molock is out, Eggart will start.
DB: Austin will play this week, Fuller and Force will start at CB.

Re: Injury News from Chronicle
Yeah, I saw Hirst doing warmups (w/o pads) with the other OL down at CSU game. That will be awesome if he can make it back by mid October!! (Weber game?). Our line will definately be stout/more experienced then and allow greater flexiblity! Too bad on gathing, I saw that he hurt his knee at CSU game, that kid plays hard every down. Hopefully FORCE can be a FORCE at CB and lock down their best WR as Fuller gains experience. Should be a fun game to watch, lots of different stories going on injury wise for both teams. The team that turns it over the most is gonna lose this one. I like our chances! I have a feeling we run it down their throats this week.MSU01 wrote:As reported in today's Chronicle:

Tyler Lulay ...
Do you think they'll burn Tyler's redshirt and play him on defense? I swear I saw him practicing with the starting defense yesterday- at safety...

I thought I saw him in street clothes in the stands at the CSU game? Anyone know the scoop on him at all? I'm curious as well.BobcatBlood wrote:Do you think they'll burn Tyler's redshirt and play him on defense? I swear I saw him practicing with the starting defense yesterday- at safety...

Here is an interesting little blurb.....
I talked with E.J. earlier today after they practiced in Idaho, and evidently Dorowski has something wrong with his ankle. E.J. said that it is a problem that might require surgery, although this is not official yet. Anyways, E.J. will probably be handling most of the kicking duties, except for the rugby punting tomorrow. E.J. said he made 2 62-yard field goals during practice and a 57-yarder as well. His leg is feeling good, and hopefully his confidence tomorrow will be good as well. If he plays like he can, then the injuries to Dorowski and Bolton won't hurt us this year. Anyways, that is the latest news from here.

Reminds me a little of watching centers in basketball shooting 3-pointers during warm-ups, when they should be practicing their free throws. Maybe EJ should focus a little more on making 30-yard FGs before moving out to midfield. I don't think it has ever been a question about EJ having the talent or the leg, because he clearly has both. The mental part of the game has always been his bugaboo, it would be nice to see him make a bunch of kicks this week to get his confidence up... but hopefully, not too many kicks - I would hope that most of those will be extra points!

The analogy of the center shooting 3-pointers isn't quite right. The kicker is not out there just kicking the long ones, they start close, and move further out. The closer analogy would be a golfer warming up by putting and then progressing all the way to the driver. I personally don't care if nobody else in here has confidence in E.J., I will always have confidence in him because I know what he is capable of. He is now going to actually get his shot, for good or ill.
