CARDIAC CATS!

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Mon Oct 11, 2004 9:18 am

This team does not QUIT! CARDIAC CATS! Our defense is set (barring any new injuries) and our offense is slowly rounding into form. Its nice to finally get our first 100 yard day running the ball. So my game ball(s) go to Justin Domineck/Ryan Force and OF COURSE EJ COCHRANE!

Right now I think Kramer is right that he said they will use the spread passing game to open up the running game and the 2nd half this last game you could really see that come into form. We just need to cut the penatlies/drops down a little more and this machine will hopefully be all oiled up and READY TO REV for the last 4 game stretch of conference play. We need these next 2 home games for sure and go into NAU and get a HUGE win there!

The running game looked a lot better and think what the numbers would look like if you add on the 50+ yard run called back on Sullivan's holding penalty. Dominick runs hard and made a lot of catches in addition to running but he still needs to stop fumbling. That will kill us down the road. I didn't mind letting Beal spell him from time to time but I don't think down inside the five yard line is the place. Beal is more of a speed back and that area of the field requires tougher running. That fumble was a potential killer too.

Overall a great win for the team. Not only did we look dead at half time but the second half fumble of the opening kickoff and subsequent field goal was almost enough to kill us. Fighting back from all of that was huge. The 3rd quarter offense was beautiful and they moved the ball in the fourth quarter as well just couldn't put it in the endzone. We need to play much better against Portland State next week since they have the number one ranked defense in the BSC right now and we can't dig that kind of hole again. Stope the turnovers and penalties and we should be fine.
