Winter portal doesn't open until December 9th, and hopefully we wouldn't hear any potential news from Bobcat players until.aroind a month after that!

I may be completely wrong, I just don’t see Vigen leaving just yet. As for players, we will have a few. I could see a few but I think our depth, like always is great, unfortunately we just can’t get to attached to any certain player anymore.

The way Vigen is recruiting with such a heavy emphasis on in-state and high school players suggests to me that he's building for the long term and not chasing after immediate success that will get him a "better" job. That said, if someone comes along with a really desirable offer (not just money but also a solid program) I think we're fooling ourselves to think he'd turn it down. The thing that may play in favor of retaining him is that if all goes as we hope, he isn't going to be available for another month and a half and most schools will want to have their new staff in place by then to recruit the portal.

Not as worried about losing Vigen as I am several of the assistants. I think our running game, and O line, is getting noticed.
I mean, we could lose Vigen but his 17 year old kid is committed to MSU so hopefully not yet.

You’re overthinking it. Vigen is going to build a program the way he thinks it should be built. Has nothing to do with if he’s going to stay or go.

I was shocked that Bergan didn’t leave UM after last season with the rumors floating around about NIL offers. That’s what worries me with the portal. Who is going to pay up for some of these dudes and will they jump at the offer???

Conklin is a very good player from what I've seen of him, especially against defenses other than MSU's. I suspect he'll get quite a few FBS offers if he hits the portal, and I'm also not too sure if MSU would be a desirable landing spot for him given how much MSU runs the ball. Definitely worth at least taking a look at if he decides to transfer!

Something interesting is FBS is lowering roster size. This will cause more FBS-FCS guys and hopefully less FCS-FBS. Something that could really help us as we are going to have to replace some dudes with the portal and hopefully this can help us hold on to some.

They are reducing roster size but upping schollie limit to 105 so the dynamics of that will certainly be interesting for FCS
