Re: This is the Year
Hopefully this makes our guys realize that if you don’t show up ready to go…..you are going to get dominated. I think Oregon needs to stop spending so much time worrying about uniforms combinations and just go play. Also, we better prepare for a fake on special teams. You know it’s going to happen at some point.

Re: This is the Year
Ohio was never the 8th best team in playoffs. They either need to not guarantee champions a bye or reseed after first round. I also don't think there should be rematches until you have played at least 1 game.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:23 pmWoof. To be fair this was a rematch and a quarterfinal. So for this to imitate it would have happened against Idaho.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 7:12 pmI know. A super bummer. Not to mention almost a month between games. Teams with first round bye went 0-3 so far. Might need to rethink format. FCS has this right, FBS should take note.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 7:28 pmTo be fair this was a rematch and a quarterfinal. I figured Oregon would lose. Didn’t figured they would be blown out however. They barely beat them at home this season. They had 1-2 other very close games. As far as the Cats… they are extremely focused and want revenge. We will get this. Best part about Oregon losing is now there is only one D1 undefeated football team in America and they are known as your MONTANA STATE BOBCATS.

Re: This is the Year
Nothing applicable to the comparisons.
The 12-team playoff is great. It's also zero percent surprising that the Final Four teams are Ohio State, Penn State, Texas and Georgia/Notre Dame. It's more surprising that Alabama and Michigan weren't good enough this year and got supplanted by Oregon, Boise State and Arizona State.
The true West in college football had its last national championship when USC "shared" in 2007. The FCS has Eastern Washington in 2010 and Montana in 2001 among its West national titles in the 21st century.
Boise State in 1980, Idaho State in 1981, Montana State in 1984, Montana in 1995 and 2001, Eastern Washington in 2010 are the only West national titles since Division I-AA was created in 1978.
Outside of USC in 2003, 2004, 2007, only West national title at the Division I-A level is Washington in 1991 since 1980. You have to go back to Arizona State in 1975 (shared with Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma) for national champs from the West that isn't USC or UW. Arizona State also had a sort of share in 1970. Washington had a share in 1960. Before that, it's Stanford in 1940, Cal in 1937 and 1923....
BTW, I'm counting Oklahoma and Texas not in the West. When I saw West, I mean, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
As Mike Kramer has argued for at least 15 years, "LIfe is too good in the West. We will never have the players that have the natural edge of players that come from the South etc......"
That said, Montana State is the deserved favorite to win it all.

Re: This is the Year
Dillon Gabriel, though talented, always seemed to have a dud when playing a big game with Oklahoma last year. It seems like he really took the run game out of his repertoire too much as well. That is what made him really successful down at UCF.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:23 pmWoof. Re: This is the Year
We are. Oregon was the only other undefeated team in college football. Hard to call that pretending. More likely, it was the near-month off between games, which is dumb.
