What’s the general thought on portal losses? It’d be naive to think we don’t lose someone, but will it be as bad as last year? Better? Worse?
Really hoping this isn’t the year we see our first MT kid go. But Jones and the Dowlers will certainly have their options. I’d like to think 2 of those 3 being team captains this year and 2 of the 3 are entering their senior year will keep them here next year. We’ll see.
On the O-line Titan I’m sure will have options, but maybe being a senior keeps him around.
Jefferson possibly? Zimmer certainly is on that trajectory but maybe a year off from getting big time options?
On D it has to be the secondary where we are at most risk of losing someone. Dline graduates all the starters so it’ll be a year that everyone else gets a step up in their role.
I’d love to keep them all, but I’ll also be surprised if we do. I’d anticipate a loss or two (or three).
Overall we’re in great position to be loaded next year. If we lose minimal then we’re set. If we lose a lot then we’ll still be good but it may take a bit to gel and figure out just how good (a lot like this year).
Titan and Jefferson would be my most likely starters on the o-line to leave, but Titan less so. I believe Titan said he’s already finished his bachelors and two Masters programs, so staying would be because of loyalty and that he loves his teammates and school. However, I’m not sure what more he could accomplish here, so I could see him leaving if he gets a nice enough offer. If Jefferson got an offer from a California school, I could see him leaving too.
I can’t see the Dowlers or Jones leaving, but you never know for sure on these things.
Secondary is my worry, but I think there is good depth there.

So Nico Brown, who just took us for over 100 yards jumped in today. Love to see the cats go after him. He was a solid player.
What about his academics though...?
He was a senior this year, so he is a grad transfer.
I was bring sarcastic.

Hopefully when we win the Chipper this year, most of our team will come back to win another.
If most of our team comes back this year, and we only lose 1-2 DBs, we might have an even better shot at winning the NC next year.
Year 2 Lamson should be scary for the FCS. He should be a preseason All-American, along with his Hawaiian "brother" across the divide. If he has an even better year next year, he has a shot at the NFL.
I'm assuming most of the OLine would be back. They are young, and I think it will take another year before they start getting some serious NIL offers from power4 schools. I know Titan bleeds blue and gold so I wouldn't be shocked to see him back even if he has offers from G5 schools. Our OLine will get nothing but better going into next year. If everyone stays, I expect our OLine to be as dominant as 2024 next year, which is also scary...
Our team is super young and riddled with talent waiting in the wings for their opportunity. Even if we lose a few guys to NIL money, we know we will be just fine. Just look to this year as proof!
