Re: Attendance
While Vegas has the edge with respect to flight volumes and availability, it is no longer cheap on any level. It's been making news for a drastic drop in visitors, and almost all signs point to rapidly increasing costs, fees, and surcharges.
While Nashville wasn't an affordable flight, I far prefer everything else about it over Vegas. Frisco was teh suk. Eff that place. Never again.

griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.

Re: Attendance
Is it 2027 where we can get a sneak peek at Vegas as an FCS site? I think that's the year with the Big Sky/MVFC kickoff event.
You can't spell dUMb without UM and now you can't spell grizzLLies without 2 Ls.

They will have announced the next long-term home of the Championship by then. 2027 (Jan 2028) will be the first season after Nashville's current 2-year stint

Re: Attendance
I don't know how prevalent this was, but the attendant at our gate could not get his scanner to work. He called the supervisor over who told him to just look at the tickets and let people in. We were therefore not counted in the attendance numbers.

Re: Attendance
Since UNLV plays at Allegiant now, what has happened to their old stadium? Would it be good for championship game?

No it's been sitting abandoned since 2021. Wikipedia for Sam Boyd Stadium has a photo from 2024 with a literal tumbleweed in the stands lol

Re: Attendance
Definitely a decently nice facility with a capacity of about 36K. Hasn't been used since 2019 though, so there would need to be a lot of work done. It's not in a very good spot either. Vegas has talked for several years about demolition or a repurpose.

Re: Attendance
It is in tough shape. It has not been maintained well and was not a great facility to begin with. However, it could be a great option with some financial backers funding a renovation. Clark County actually purchased the stadium for $5 million.

Re: Attendance
From talking to the ISU fans, they only sold 4200 of the tickets they were sent and returned the rest. I have to assume as they were sitting in other places around the stadium that perhaps they picked up another 2000 tickets perhaps? That would put things at 25% Birds and 75% Cats in the stands. From being there and seeing the crowd, that would make sense to me.

Re: Attendance
From being there and seeing that the birds were flanked by bobcat fans starting at the 40 yrd line on each side of the 50…and 99.9% cat fans on our side it was probably 85% Cat fans! What an awesome turnout from the Cat faithful!!

Re: Attendance
No.... Not ever please.
I think the two BSC and MVFC challenge games are a potential screening for allegiant to bid on the FCS Championship game.

You could see the returned seats on the NCAA seat side. Returned the top 6 rows.chillmontana wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 1:46 pmFrom talking to the ISU fans, they only sold 4200 of the tickets they were sent and returned the rest. You probably were still counted, most of the time they report paid attendance and not the actual number of people that came into the stadium.

Re: Attendance
Was talking to our Uber drive down in Nashville, who seemed very up on college football and knew all about the game. He mentioned that if Nashville won the bid that the game could potentially be played in the new Titans stadium, which will be complete in 2 years. If that is the case, I 1000% support Nashville. Everything was excellent except what has already been mentioned about the stadium. It should not take 45 minutes to go grab a popcorn and return to your seat.
