So as of right now, the Cats lose 7 from the offense and 7 from the Defense off of the 2 deep between graduation and the portal.

They stand to return 16 out of 23 from the 2 deep on offense (3 TE’s were listed all year, making the 2 deep 23 players).

And on defense they return 15 of 22 off the 2 deep.

That is pretty amazing in the portal age.

Small senior class and minimal portal losses has this team poised to be stacked next year.

Saw on fb someone posted the same Adam Jones Instagram post that I had posted from last year. Several commented that it was last year's post, but Caden Dowler also commented that it was from last year, but Adam isn't going anywhere. Figure he would know.

I saw that, and the same person had another post saying he has confirmation Zimmer is coming back. No clue if he’s actually in the know at all, but if it’s on FB, it’s gotta be true.

Saw that as well. He seems to be connected to the team somehow, and is careful to only post what he knows, so I'm guessing Zimmer is back too.

I had heard second hand that Zimmer had decided to stay, but I would guess it'll be the Conner Moore route for him and he'll leave for a large bag after this year. I don't have any insight on that, just a guess.

Honestly, that's a business decision, and would be a smart move on his part. Guessing whether family, or coaches, or both, he's got some good advisors.

I saw a comment on fb that several guys who've entered the portal planned to a month ago. As frustrating as that is, I do appreciate that those who played in the Natty, played well, gave it their all to win the game. I don't feel that happened last year. I'm also guessing that the team and coaches knew, and the drama in the locker room was decreased due to that.

However, a month ago was the Yale game, which was a wonky game for sure. The speculation was there was illness going through the team, and that may be true. But I wonder if a bit of them playing "off" had to do with players making their intentions known, and that creating a bit of a hiccup. Obviously they pulled together to finish strong, which speaks to the leadership from coaches to captains.

This is just choosing the conclusion you want and finding a way to make it work.

So what I didn't add to my thoughts from before, was Coach Greene leaving. Ty and Colter discussed it in his most recent podcast, and Ty almost directly related losing their coach to be a driving force behind the transfers. Had Coach Greene stayed would those DB's have as well? Perhaps not, but maybe he'd convince them to run it back and add to their stock as sophomores. No way to know. Next man up!

That’s the one I saw on FB. I don’t know who Jeff Unger is, but he’s shown up in my feed a ton these last few weeks. Obviously a super fan. I’d imagine he’s active on here? (Not trying to out you Jeff if you’re staying anonymous here). But he seems to know a thing or two about what’s going on, seemingly anyways.
