Yes, there is a presser going on today. I’m sure one of the local reporters will put the presser up online and I’m also sure we won’t be able to hear many of the questions being asked.

One thing I like about this class is that it is very "local", which can really help us retain folks, especially if VIgen leaves. 10 of 24 are from Montana (including a near clean sweep of the state's top prospects) and 18 of 24 are from Washington, Idaho, Utah or Montana, sort of "local" schools where Bozeman is eiher a doable drive or a quick and inexpensive flight. These kids understand our region and our school and aren't as likely to casually flip once they are here if a national program comes calling.

We should obviously take kids where we can find them and if we can sign a big prospect from TX or CA, we should do it, but we have to realize that we are very much probably a third rank choice for most of those kids. They are familiar with the weather out here and aren't likely to be put off by that. Many of them will have non-football classmates attending MSU.

This is great for long-term program building, by recruiting kids who want to be here and are likely to stay here.

I look at it that way as well. Cats should look for talent everywhere, but do and should focus a lot on the Western and nearby states. Utah and Colorado have easy flights to Bozeman and there is a lot of talent in those locations too.
