Someone said he is listed on On3 website…. With visits lined up…. I don’t know anything about that site or what it means….

Just hoping it’s not true.
Somebody on eGriz is purposefully or ignorantly copying a supposed tweet from Pete Nokas of On3 without realizing that his real name and handle is Pete Nakos.

Caden & Taco may leave, I would assume, but nothing has been announced yet.

Yes. The other folks in egriz were even telling whoever was he had it wrong.

Nothing surprising so far.

I imagine Thornton jumps into Jefferson’s spot, or they decide he’s better at guard and move Titan back out (if he stays).

OL is the last position group I’m worried about.
Exactly! Cedric is a very good player with great potential, he will be missed. However, we got some guys that might end up being even better than he was. If we hold on to Titan, Zimmer and Mastel, we will be more than fine!

I still have high hopes for Dillon Rollins as well.

Probably give Everett Carr another shot but this time at his true position which is RG and kick Titan to RT. Titan and Burke are going to have to make decisions based on NIL proposals they're receiving. The one who has received the most interest? Braden Zimmer. Ever since that first Oregon game, it's been call after call I've heard. If we get Zimmer for one more year, it's because he was convinced by the staff to take the Conner Moore route (start two years then get SEC or Big 10 offers plus 7 figures going into junior year). Braden already has interest from half the Big 10 and a few SEC schools.

Guys...when I say it's crazy what these kids get proposed on a weekly basis, it's crazy. Especially if you are an OL or corner. Just like the NFL, those two positions are in high demand.

Heard a rumor JT might be able to come back for yet another year but if not, I think Burke might slide into center or Aiden Kaplan. Dylan has a shot at multiple spots depending on who leaves.

If anyone wants to feel dirty you can see all the Caden stuff on eGriz, where the two main topics of discussion today are being whiny little babies about Mony Mony and a long thread hoping for MSU to lose their best players to the portal.
I did some digging, and if I'm not mistaken, HookedonGriz started the rumor over on Egriz about some reporter saying Caden Dowler is in the portal on On3 website, and now that rumor has made it over here somehow. I looked all over to find Dowler on there. I went to Caden's twitter, Instagram... nothing to be found. If he did in fact enter the portal, we would surley be hearing from him first.

Those guys over on Egriz also said Lamson is likely leaving just because he didn't strictly say he is going to run it back on camera after the game was over. Delusional land over there.
Nope, all I said over there is that I saw or read somewhere (couldn’t recall exactly where at the time) that I saw Caden Dowler was set to visit UCLA and I believe Cincinnati. While I was trying to find the source of that, someone else posted this article directly from Pete Nakos with On3 which is the list I had seen:

Watch More
The college football transfer portal is officially open for business. The 15-day window is expected to be a mad dash with programs trying to build out rosters for the 2026 season while working to retain their top players.

On3 has the latest intel on where over 40 of the top transfers could land and their official visit schedules.

Transfer Portal Intel

Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby
Texas Tech and LSU are the two schools going head-to-head to land Brendan Sorsby. The Tigers have emerged as a serious contender as of late. Sources tell On3 that Sorsby is expected to visit Texas Tech on Friday.

Auburn WR Cam Coleman
The two early schools to watch are Texas and Texas A&M, and sources have told On3 they like where the Longhorns stand early on. It would add a top weapon in the passing game for Arch Manning. Sources have told On3 the Longhorns are working to get Coleman in on a visit on Friday and Saturday. Texas A&M is working to get him to College Station following the trip to Austin.

Penn State EDGE Chaz Coleman
Ohio State continues to be the school to keep tabs on in Chaz Coleman’s transfer portal process, sources tell On3. Coleman is a Warren, Ohio native. Tennessee and LSU are other schools to watch, sources tell On3’s Steve Wiltfong and I.

Notre Dame QB Kenny Minchey

NC State WR Terrell Anderson
Florida, USC, Georgia, Ole Miss, TCU, SMU, Louisville, UCLA, LSU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Michigan, Florida State and Miami are early schools to monitor in this recruitment, sources told On3.

Jacksonville State RB Cam Cook

Akron OL Maasai King

While Kentucky and Louisville have been publicly linked to Josh Hoover, sources continue to tell On3 that Indiana is the top school to watch in this transfer recruitment.

Florida QB DJ Lagway
The former five-star recruit has been tied to Baylor, LSU, Miami and Louisville, among other schools. Expect Lagway to watch how the market plays out on the opening day of the portal before making any decisions.

LSU OL Carius Curne

Thank god we got the trophy back in bozeman, otherwise this would have been a pretty painful couple weeks of the “with that being said” period.
I’ll give you credit for not having a total meltdown this time. We’re all used to it by now, and it appears nobody’s opinions on portal players leaving have changed.

I can’t imagine how this must suck for the coaches. They all deserve a week on a beach and enjoy the win, but now they have to spend the next 2-weeks re-recruiting their team.

Yall some funny folks in here.... I'll will be around and give the analysis when I can.

Again he isn't my family but I am fond of him and his game. I think he got a raw deal not being put up for frosh AA but it is what it is.

When I saw the tweet I hit his dad up and he said that it really was a hard decision as jhase really likes msu, and the winters aren't too bad for him lolol, but he really wants to be on the biggest stage he can get to. The money isn't an issue for them, both parents are college educated and have good jobs.... his dad also wanted everyone to know, because msu has been so good to his son, that it was truly something that they decided when they got back to Texas today and again it was a tough decision to make. He also said he might come back if his son doesn't like what the other schools have to offer program wise and development wise.

Edit...... he said the out pouring of gratitude is very humbling... makes the decision even harder
Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat!!

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.

Penn State EDGE Chaz Coleman
Ohio State continues to be the school to keep tabs on in Chaz Coleman’s transfer portal process, sources tell On3. Coleman is a Warren, Ohio native. Coaches can’t be in contact with players who aren’t in the portal. Would be pretty hard to take a visit and not meet with coaches.

Now I guess it’s possible Caden entered the portal and hasn’t said anything, but it seems unlikely. And, immediately visiting the day after the natty? Again, possible, but seems unlikely.

I'm pretty sure I saw Caden in the video of the players returning to the airport....which was on Jan 6. So unless he was just changing planes in Bozeman, it would be hard for him to get to UCLA yesterday.
Also, I saw twitter that Jhase has a visit scheduled to UCLA.
Sooooo.....it's possible that this national writer just mixed up MSU DB's and typed the wrong name in there. I have no inside info on anything, and it's still possible that 1 or both Dowlers leave, but I think there might be a mixup so far.

The juxtaposition of these two realities is crazy to me:

1) Braden Zimmer is an NFL level talent at tackle and has the highest upside of any MSU offensive lineman that I've ever watched.

2) If he leaves, the Cats will almost certainly be just fine.

I'm not sure people appreciate just how special it is that the program is in a place where both those things can be true at the same time.

I can’t imagine how this must suck for the coaches. They all deserve a week on a beach and enjoy the win, but now they have to spend the next 2-weeks re-recruiting their team.
Yeah. I thought it was bad for us fans not being able to soak in the victory for even 24 hours before seeing the portal news. I can't imagine it for the coaches. But it's the new world of college football.

Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

Caden's girlfriend was on our Billings charter. He is having his shoulder surgery today (January 7).

There were a handful of players that didn't go back on the team flight for one reason or another. I think some took an extra day to do the Nashville experience, some likely flew home with family to enjoy the rest of the break, some are likely finished with school and don't have anywhere to go.

I saw Kenny, Taco, Sansted and a few others out and about in Nashville after the team flight left.
