Re: Vigen is staying at MSU!
I just read an article on ESPN about Kiffin likely taking the LSU job. It said that kiffin wanted to stay at Ole Miss through the CFP. However, the leadership at Ole Miss said absolutely not. Very interesting how it’s being handled.
Hating the griz since 02.

Re: Vigen is staying at MSU!
Interesting Interview with Vigen this week for those who haven't seen it. He talks about Yale and various other things leading up to this weekends game.
At the 3:58 mark, he is asked about the Oregon State situation earlier last week. As always, he responds with class!

I think he answered that as best he could. He didn't deny the interest, and shouldn't have as opportunities will come along, but at the end of the day, the interest waned. I read a comment on fb that perhaps it was all to gain some leverage not for himself but for his assistants, as he was tired of them being picked off. Who knows? I'm just glad he decided to stay and will be interested to see how many position coaches and players also choose to stay because of it.BlueAndGoldNation wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 1:40 pmInteresting Interview with Vigen this week for those who haven't seen it. If it was in a comment section on FB, it’s gotta be true. (Sarcasm if that’s not obvious enough)nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 3:11 pmI think he answered that as best he could. His verbiage about this is interesting though. Usually when it’s a raise for the head coach, they outright say it and the details are released. He’s been very clear in both his official statement last week and this presser that the university is upping their support of the program. That’s pretty vague.
Does that mean raises to the assistants? More money allocated to NIL efforts? Reshuffling of facility priorities so football is next on the list (maybe it already was)?
Could be a lot of things, maybe a little bit of everything, but it doesn’t seem like a direct raise for Vigen himself is one of those things, or at least not the only thing.

It's probably assistants raises. I assume football is already at the top of the facilities list and school based NIL is probably stuck competing with Title IX.
Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!
And a kick away from a championship.
Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Haha of course I know to take ALL comments on fb with a grain of salt, but his point was similar to yours in thinking Vigen wasn't necessarily padding his own pocket.Catsrgrood wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 3:25 pmIf it was in a comment section on FB, it’s gotta be true. I'm also hearing the new OSU hire Shephard is going to be allowed to stay on and coach for Alabama? If true, that changes my thoughts on how things went down with Vigen and the OSU job.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Watching Vigens press conference(s) along with player interviews is so refreshing and positive. Then go over and watch Beavis and his peons is the reason why dUMb is in so much trouble. Being Led by an idiot like that has to be tough to swallow. I hope the Jacks run them out of the Mecca.BlueAndGoldNation wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 1:40 pmInteresting Interview with Vigen this week for those who haven't seen it. So true!!! It's just embarrassing. Can't believe the university allows that man to represent their football program. And the way he micromanages his players. I LOVE that the Cats players can laugh, smile, share their thoughts, and Vigen is such a professional!KIX wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 3:55 pmWatching Vigens press conference(s) along with player interviews is so refreshing and positive. Re: Vigen is staying at MSU!
Potentially.. I would say that Vigen didn't have the leverage because he was coming from an FCS school. In this scenario, OSU had the leverage. For Shep, coming from Alabama, he had the leverage. If OSU wanted him, it was likely conditional that he stick with Alabama through their postseason. Then again, after Vigen fropped out, Shep was OSU's only option, so there, too, he had all the leverage and was able to stay on at Alabama.
No matter, though. I'm glad Vigen is with us for another year.

I'm happy for Vigen that he is still here too. OSU is a dumpster fire. Hell Jimmy Rogers is kicking their ass.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 4:42 pmPotentially.. Nope. In fact, LSU agreed to pay Kiffen all of his incentives for Ol Miss winning in the playoffs. In the odd chance that an Ol Miss team coached by the DC wins the national championship, LSU will pay Kiffen $1 mill bonus.

What i noticed about the presser is Vigen makes an aside that hopefully people will step up and support the program, or something like that.
Plot twist....this was all a ploy by Vigan and Leon to get people to donate more money to facilities upgrades!

Favorite Vigen quote from the presser. "For whatever reason Youngstown's discipline escaped them in that moment."

I think it's more about the Excellence Fund than it is about facilities. Rev Share is the new NIL

As did the Cats on Gillmans ling run. That was the exception all season for Cats but the norm for YSU

Gilman also got away with grabbing the face mask of our guy and pulling him the opposite way. Should've been dropped for a loss.

It was Brott. There were several times in that game where the Cats uncharacteristically didn't play their leverages on D. Yes Paul should have gotten a hands to the face penalty but the real breakdown there was the DB over pursued and gave up the edge. He had a LB and Brott in pursuit and if he forces Gillman back to the middle it would have been a TFL on the play. In terms of the overall defensive performances for the Cats, it was decent but not their best. Conversely the gris had a much more consistent game on offense than they routinely had all season.lutecat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 4:14 pmGilman also got away with grabbing the face mask of our guy and pulling him the opposite way. Teton asked in a different thread about the confidence of Cat fans in a rematch when we didn't dominate them. This is my answer. I know the Cats can play better than they did, not sure the gris can.

The defense flat didn’t tackle well. They did adequate, but did not perform to their normal. If we have a rematch, I would certainly hope they do better and I’m sure it would be brought up in meetings.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 4:31 pmIt was Brott.
