I am still very depressed about Saturday, and trying to get over it, but its really hard. The whole corner situation is completely ridiculous. Austin is not fast, at all. EWU burned us twice using the same play, they knew at the half how to change the attack. I read somewhere that the Cats knew they would come out throwing more, which they certainly did, and took advantage of our weakest link. Sorry if that's too painful for some, but very true. However, this is a team sport, thus leading me to say that there isn't one person who can do it all (eg. Lulay). I was down at the field after the game, and I have never seen so many guys so depressed. It was all they could do muster up enough courage to come out of the locker room to meet with the press, parents, fans, etc. I am planning the trip to Missoula this weekend, however this whole thing is very anti-climatic. I think we had the fight of the season on Saturday. Now its the job of all of us devoted Cat fans to pull together for the finale Saturday at Washington/Grizzly and give it our all. I hope that Kramer can get these guys moving for Saturday. It's our chance to give EWU the sole possession of the BSC championship, which they deserve, alone with no co-win with UM.

I was thinking the exact same thing myself, Pride. The loss of Frank Robinson and John Rushing has undoubtedly hurt. In Berryhill's defense, I do think that Andre Fuller has made big strides so far this season, and Austin was out for half the year so he didn't have all those games to improve from. It is pretty unbelievable that the only players to intercept passes are safeties. Well, now that I think about it, Force has 4 and Grenfell has 3, and I think we have 9, so I can't remember who got the other two.

Well, one thing's for sure. If Krames doesn't think a coach is gettin' it done, he won't be afraid to make a change.

Saying that, I noticed who coaches the DBs - Berryhill. This is the same guy who coached our WRs last season, and they didnt show me much then. Is it a coinicidence that the DBs arent showing us much this year either? Someone told me Saturday that we dont have one single CB with an INT this season???? You'd think with some good coaching, even freshmen would show steady improvement over the course of a season.
They've shown a lot of improvement, but you don't cover argueably the best player in the league with anyone but the best corner in the league...and we don't have him this year. If you double cover you create a hole somewhere else. I think the coaching staff just took the chance that we could put enough pressure on to control Meyer and Kimble. If you put Force out there, there is no guarantee that it would change anything and you get less run support in the middle. You pick your poison and do what you have been doing all year. I don't expect them to change for the friz. Also Kramer is not one to scheme and create trick plays...it'll be the same offense and defense with maybe a few different blitzes (IMO)

Yep, time to move on. Were there some things we should have done differently? Yeah. Did the refs suck .. Yeah? I just wish the coaches would tell Austin to tackle the guy and get the penalty if he knows he is beat (espeically when your up by 21). Give them the penalty yards, but not the long TD plays.

ITS TIME TO MOVE ON. WE ALL HAVE A SOUR TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS ON THIS ONE I AM SURE. LETS GO OUT IN STYLE AND BEAT THE GRIZZLIES! WE SEEM TO PLAY A LOT FASTER ON ARTIFICIAL TURF AS WELL.

I LIKE OUR CHANCES!

I think we lost control so fast-the coaching staff didn't hardly have a chance to react. Remember, before the big pass plays we got burned on the draw play up the middle-and the there was absolutely nobody in the middle on that one-no linebackers, no safeties. Maybe we adjusted our safties to stop that from happening and then they went to the outside?

I agree, time to move on, but how do you get ready for the griz with your secondary this demoralized?

No offense, but Austin has shown me NOTHING the last 2 weeks. How do you gameplan to stop the griz offense when they will either have Talmage or Heidelberger lined up in front of #13? He's too small to disrupt them at the line of scrimmage, too slow to run stride for stride, and he bites on the first move his man makes. Corey, I hope you read this and it pisses you off to the extent that you have the best game of your life!

To me, our only hope is to generate pressure on Jokes ANY WAY WE CAN. If our down-lineman can do it alone (which I believe they can), that would be ideal. But if not, we MUST blitz and hope to disrupt their timing. If we can't, they will abuse Austin worse than the last 2 weeks & our offense will be forced to score on EVERY posession. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING!!!! Without a decent pass rush, Jokes will have the biggest game of his career.
