So I guess he did a great job Coach win they won 20 games. If you even know what you are talking about. That was the only game the cats blew a lead.

If you are going to him credit for the loses you must give him credit for the wins.

Dump F**K
Try saying that to my face, big man. Why do I get the distinct feeling you are about 15 years old - if not in body, then certainly in mind?

And to answer your question, YES, the Cats lost to the griz in the 2002 Big Sky tourney because of Mick's coaching. We played great getting our lead built up to 19 points, then Mick pulled his genious move and went to a "pass-the-ball-around-for-30-seconds, then-whoever-has-the-ball-fire-up-a-terrible-shot-with-a-defender-in-your-face" strategy. Amazingly, it didn't work!!! We may have won 20 games that year, which is good, but we couldn't win the one game that counted.

I honestly just don't see what you are excited about with Bobcat basketball? I have nothing personal against Mick, he is a nice enough guy and I respect him for running a clean program, having mild success, and being a true Bobcat to the bone. His time here is over, though. This program is sinking further and further towards the bottom of the Big Sky every year - and if you didn't notice, the Big Sky is one of the worst leagues in all of Division I! I remember not too long ago when even if we weren't winning the Sky, we still got around 6,000 fans at every game, and it was always loud and you had fun. The Brick is a mausoleum right now - nobody comes to the games, and the ones who do sit on their hands and raise it up to a golf clap when they get really excited. There is ZERO excitement for Bobcat basketball. Mick's teams usually start off strong and fade at the end - well, this year we aren't even starting off strong, I hate to see how we will finish...

Please, instead of making childish personal attacks, provide something resembling a knowledgeable argument as to why Mick should stay around. Being his buddy doesn't count, sorry to say.

GO CATS GO!!!

BozoneCat is right about the turbo stall Mick uses. Griz fans love it.

Never mistake activity for accomplishment.

I think Bozone is right about more than just that. His assessment of the status of our program is right on. As fast as things are improving on the football side, they are declining equally quickly on the basketball side. Being two of the wost eight teams in the BSC the past two seasons, a low level Div. 1 basketball conference, and showing no signs of changing that this season is terrible. Unfortunately, I see no chance of Mick leaving until Mick decides it is time. He has been there too long and thought of as a part of the community and university to the extent I really don't think he would ever be fired. I couldn't believe the attendance vs. SMU last week. High school games draw 2,700 at times even in Montana. That type of thing tells me that Bozone is not alone in his desire to see the program take a different direction. However and with whomever it takes, the Bobcat basketball program needs a shot in the arm and we need it right now.
