Catatac, I agree if any team is better than 50% thats great. However Kramer has built a great ball club and 2005 will be the year we will see a team that will not go flat in the last 1/2 of the season. I, for one have been very happy with Kramers years at MSU, even if I am somewhat let down this next year. Go Cats

Anyone can correct my numbers if I'm off a little, but heres how I see the last 9 yrs.
96: 6-5 3rd in conf
97: 6-5 3rd in conf
98: 7-4 conf runner up
99: 3-8
00: 0-11
01: 5-6
02: 6-5 conf champs, playoffs
03: 7-5 conf champs, playoffs
04: 6-6 3rd in conf
I don't know about anyone else but I think that most fans in many of the 119 1AA schols would like to have a nine yr run like that.

Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

I see what you're typing catatac, but agree that you are over-analyzing this.
And yes, I do expect the Bobcat football team to compete in the top 25 each and every year. That is a big expectation, but with our facilities, money, fan base, following, etc. etc....that expectation should be met.
Time for MSU to strive for something more than mediocrity!

Raincat: That may be true, but, in reality world, we have no right to have such high expectations after the previous 15 years, prior to Krames.
I would venture to guess that there is a majority, who call themselves Bobcat Fans, who consider the Cats to have met or exceeded expectations under Krames. I think most would also agree that every year has shown improvement. This year, the hardware didn't come with the improvement, but I still think, as a program, the Cat Football program improved.
I'm good with that. I have no doubts that it will continue to improve into the forseeable future.
I'm second El G.

Just to add a little something to this conversation, I believe that Mike Kramer expects more out of himself and his team than any of us do. He doesn't shy away from these expectations -- hell, he ASKS for it with every word that comes out of his mouth. So, I don't think these expectations are unrealistic or far-fetched. Winning programs in every sport become that way and sustain greatness by EXPECTING greatness - I don't think we should look at ourselves any differently.
I for one hold absolutely nothing against Coach Hysell. He came into a program that was in complete shambles, and was able to restore pride, integrity, and a taste of winning into Bobcat Football. The man had his shortcomings, particularly in the personal relations department, but to bad-mouth the man right now is flat out disrespectful. He brought us to the edge of the hill he was climbing, but was never able to quite get over the top. He did, however, pave that uphill side to make the ascent much easier for Coach Kramer, so that he had the ability to make that turn over the top. I thank him for what he did for Montana State University, and I wish him good health and happiness down the road. He will always get beer bought from myself when I see him in Bozeman.
