Thanks to Gato, Wild, and others for putting ecg in his place. I'm not a member of egriz, so I'll have to say it here.
I'm pretty new at these message boards. Never thought someone would steal my post and put it on egriz. Funny...ecg didn't even respond to it on bobcatnation. He had to go and call all his buddies for help. Run back to the den little man and have mommy help you beat up the kitty.

Put in me in my place how? Please. Most Grizzlies have a great sense of humor, and when something as funny as your post comes along, it has to be shared. Even your fellow cat fans realize that going undefeated in your IAA schedule isn't going to happen.FlatheadLakeCat wrote:Thanks to Gato, Wild, and others for putting ecg in his place. The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

7-4, I hope it will be better, but history shows us a slow starter. I think 2-2 in non conference losing to OSU and Cal-Poly with two losses in conference EWU & PSU but beating the griz to clinch a playoff spot. I hope we can end up 8-3 and host but feel 7-4 is more likely.

While it may be somewhat unlikely, don't say it can't happen. Remember the criteria, or rather official guideline, for at-large playoff consideration changed this year from the old "no more than 3 losses" to "7 or more Div. I wins." Since we have an all DI schedule this year, a 7-4 finish still puts us into playoff consideration. Whether it would happen or not is anybodies guess and would depend on a lot of other factors, but at 7-4 we are not automatically out of it.El_Gato wrote:I hate to break it to you, teton, but if we go 7-4 with losses to PSU & EWU, there's no way we make the playoffs...

Anything is possible, but look what happened to Cal Poly last year: 8-3 with a tough schedule and two Buchanon Award finalists and they still were left out of the playoffs.kmax wrote:While it may be somewhat unlikely, don't say it can't happen. Speaking of Cal Poly, I just heard that Jordan Beck broke his foot, and is out for the year.gtapp wrote:Anything is possible, but look what happened to Cal Poly last year: 8-3 with a tough schedule and two Buchanon Award finalists and they still were left out of the playoffs.kmax wrote:While it may be somewhat unlikely, don't say it can't happen. I have to say 9-2 with loses to OSU and PSU. We get the auto bid because EWU will get bit by the injury bug and lose two conference games. UM and EWU will also make the playoffs. Finally the Cats and the Griz will play each other in the second round of the playoffs just like the league wanted and "ouch" the Griz will win. The Griz will then lose to a much healthier Eastern in the next round and Eastern will win the NC. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
22-0

Yes, but they were essentially an Independant since the Great West was not an officially recognized conference last year. Independant's have had a tough time traditionally getting into the playoffs when they are borderline, and under last years guidelines with three losses they were borderline.gtapp wrote:Anything is possible, but look what happened to Cal Poly last year: 8-3 with a tough schedule and two Buchanon Award finalists and they still were left out of the playoffs.kmax wrote:While it may be somewhat unlikely, don't say it can't happen. Like I said, at 7-4 it would be tough to get an at large bid, but I just think there would be a better chance with the guideline change than there was previously. It was changed to reward teams that play an all DI schedule. For instance were the Griz to finish 7-4, they would not be in the same situation since they play a DII.

What a crock :-& This guy's schedule belongs in the outhouse
Nobody touches us this year--and the only thing worthwhile about this article is the last sentence.

I did have 8-3, but I'm amending to 7-4 (forgot about the breaking Gatewood news).
Considering the Gatewood issues, the non-conference schedule just became far more difficult. I think the 'Cats will pull out a 2-2 record, but it is anyone's guess as to which games they win and lose. All three will be close.
In the conference, the 'Cats will lose in Cheney. Montana State will either lose to Montana at home or at PGE park. For some odd reason, Idaho State might give the 'Cats fits at Reno H. Sales stadium.

I guess I just dont see how losing Rick for 3 games is going to kill this season. Is he good - after Kimble, he's arguably best in conference - but he's a reciever, which happens to be the deepest position on the team.
Cats were more than likely going to lose at OSU with Rick or not. SFA is picked to finish 5th in their conference - so MSU better damn well be able to win that game at home with or without Ricky Greatwood. Cal Poly will be a tough game though. But if we arent able to produce an offense by week 3 with the returning team we have, and all the seniors we have, then missing Rick for that game is the least of our problems.
If this team is capable of making a run in the playoffs, then losing our #1 wideout for 3 OOC games shouldnt amount to all that much. If this team is that good, they should be able to compensate for this loss for a couple weeks.

That's funny, what is it, 5 straight losses to Cal Poly going into this year and they don't worry you? Mole is a year older at Sac. St., NDSU has as many wins as the Cats in Wa/Griz the last 15 years, I wouldn't look past them. You're crazy if you're not worried about us, it's a rivalry game, throw out the stats, any team can win a rivalry game. With the Cats schedule this year, I wouldn't be real worried about Weber, other than that, I wouldn't count anybody as an easy win.The only two teams that scare me this year are OK State and EWU. I'm thinking 9-2. See ya in Chattanooga!

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
