The wife and I are looking at coming to our first game in bozeman. What is transportation like from hotels to games? Are there enough ubers, lyfts, etc?
You haven't mentioned which game you are going to. I'm guessing Gold Rush. Remember, Gold Rush will be a night game with a start time of 6:00pm and it doesn't appear the busses run very late on weekends. I've never ridden the bus system in Bozeman though, so you might want to check and make sure you can get back after the game. If you end up not being able to catch a bus or use a ride share, just DM me your phone number and I'll send you mine. I can give you a ride back to your hotel. I'm staying in Bozeman for the two currently scheduled night games this season. I'd give you a ride to the game too, but I usually get to the games 3 hours beforehand and I'm not sure if you are into being there that early.
We're going to the msu-um game. We want to experience THAT atmosphere. And yeah we already got tickets. We have a way back to the hotel just was wondering about ways to get there.
You are in for a treat.....
I am truly looking forward to it.
What other college football venues have you watched a game in? Any rivalry games?
Watched honestly not many... played at UT 3xs, Michigan 2xs, Hawaii once(actually it was a really a hostile crowd it was an awesome place venue wise), Fresno st(another truly hostile crowd, venue was ok).... being in from Texas I've been to a UT/A&M game.. but that's about it

Thats at least a great baseline of experiences. It will be interesting to see how the Cat/gris game compares to your other experiences.

Some pathetic griz fans try calling it griz-Cat but that obviously never caught on.
It was actually the university of MT marketing department tried to get people calling it griz/Cat and they actually have succeeded with a lot of griz fans. And the Brawl name wasn't invented by griz fans. The trophy was given a name and that's what stuck.

Remember kids, gris/Cat sounds like what's left on the ground when a bear poops.

The trophy is called the divide trophy, isn't it? the Brawl was generated by TV media.

Correct, it is the Great Divide Trophy. The Brawl of the Wild name comes from the annual all sports competition that MSU has been winning every year lately. Perhaps it was used unofficially before that.

Three paragraphs into his game story chronicling UM’s 38-13 win over the Wildcats in Missoula, sportswriter Kim Briggeman noted: “Only Montana State stands in the way of Montana’s fifth straight trip to the (Division) I-AA football playoffs. The 97th Brawl of the Wild takes place in Bozeman on Saturday. It’s been sold out for weeks.”

And there it was. The “Brawl of the Wild” name was born. Twenty-five years ago to the day.
Briggeman, a 1981 UM graduate

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I’ve never used those options in Bozeman. If you’re staying downtown walking isn’t a bad option. Go south on Willson, which is a really nice neighborhood with lots of cool, old homes about 10 blocks, then work your way west to the stadium.
It is a horrible option if I am carrying 2 30 packs of beer a fifth of whiskey, a fifth of tequila and 4 bags of ice. And sometimes a 50 pound box of fresh Idaho potatoes.

You gotta find you an eastern Montana girl, she can handle that and still carry her pheasant gun just in case. You can carry the pretzels.

Didja know that the seed potatoes for them Idaho potatoes you're talking about are mostly grown in Manhattan? True story...

I have good friend with a farm in Grace Idaho that grows seed potatoes. I hope the ones grown in Manhattan aren't displaced by housing.

I remember Homecoming a few years ago. Friday afternoon and evening for the pep rally was very nice weather. Saturday morning woke up for the Parade to find it had snowed 6". The game was miserably cold, my two friends that came along watched the game in a bar.
