The music was a bit loud. Most of time it was acceptable but there were times the volume was too much….when you have to yell to talk to person sitting beside you is kinda a tell. The family sitting next to us with two youngsters left before first half because kids had fingers in the ears and couldn’t bear it. Just a fact.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:52 am
Amen!
I cant believe people are actually complaining about it?! I thought it was absolutely incredible.

Re: New Scoreboard and Sound System
I say this as somebody who has young kids at the games pretty often, if they can’t handle the speaker sound, they’re certainly not going to be able to handle the sound of the crowd during a good game. I thought the scoreboard, speakers, and music, was great.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 11:16 amThe music was a bit loud. The speakers were louder than any crowd that I have ever heard even during its peak crowd noise time……at least where we sit.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 11:33 amI say this as somebody who has young kids at the games pretty often, if they can’t handle the speaker sound, they’re certainly not going to be able to handle the sound of the crowd during a good game. At times they were a bit much. I want the two young ladies with their cheer uniforms on to come to a future game and hopefully they will. And now you can lecture me about ear plugs and head phones etc etc etc. Just telling you how it was where we were.

The announcer was noticeably louder on TV. It really really came through. That a lone told me how much crisp and louder the volume was. I think it’s legitimate gripes that you can’t talk to people next to you or kids have to plug their ears. I think it’s game one and those things could be tweaked. After two decades of MSU hearing from the fans how bad the sound was, I’m sure they went for it a bit last night. Easy adjustments though.
Hating the griz since 02.

Agreed. Maybe some didn’t notice but the other thing I liked was you could actually hear the referee make the call on the field which was great! A few times the mic connection was garbled but for the most part I appreciated actually hearing and understanding the call.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:32 pmThe announcer was noticeably louder on TV. You forgot to add that the goal post uprights are too shortCats92 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:07 amThe bobcat head on top of the scoreboard doesn’t light up and there are way too many paid sponsorships diluting the screen. The asphalt added a lot of heat to the tailgating experience. The “BOBCATS” inlay is already cracking. The south scoreboard didn’t work. The 18-23 year olds on my favorite team gave up too many points and didn’t score enough in the second half to make me happy. They ran out of turkey legs. And when the heck are we replacing the east side and bowling in the NEZ.

Gotta agree with this. Things are pretty darned nice there.

How could I forget about that?? Thank you for calling me out for overlooking such a blatant shortcoming of Bobcat athletic facilities….RickRund wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 1:48 pmYou forgot to add that the goal post uprights are too shortCats92 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:07 amThe bobcat head on top of the scoreboard doesn’t light up and there are way too many paid sponsorships diluting the screen. Excellent game day experience yesterday. Everything totally changes the dynamic of the stadium from inside out.

Sound system very loud and very clear. The blaring rap "music" prior to the game was more than my ears could take though.
I can't imagine that this is what the majority of Cat fans want to hear, especially since it's so loud you can talk to the guy next to you.
Came here to say this. I am late to the game.
New scoreboard and sound system were awesome. The video they played before the players ran out got me hyped, was ready to suit up myself ( as the water boy, the playing days are WELL behind me)

Heck, I would be good for one play as long as it is close to the ambulance.cat22[2010] wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:21 pmCatgrad16 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:54 pmHate to break it to you but pregame music is for players and they do not care one bit about what fans like during that time.aucat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 10:33 pmTook some time to get used to the new scoreboard but I like the size.
