A couple adds…drive just as fast in a pouring rain as you do when dry….or you’ll get run over. And if you venture out to the more rural areas in WestTexas…on a two lane road the polite move is to pull over on the shoulder at 70 mph and let people pass OR they will pass you on the right!!! Personal experience….BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:17 pmListen to the resident Texan.. use uber. I hate the dfw area. The highways are super confusing and the exits come quick and we drive fast... like really fast and aggressive. Everything in every metro area is about 30-45min no matter how far or close it is, lol. We don't judge a trip by miles we judge by time lol. The police are butts down here when they know there is a big event and they will be lurking waiting and looking for a reason to get you. Frisco is one of the well to-do areas of dfw, they will be looking for a reason to pull you over. The people are great here.
Rules of the rd if you drive.... everyone drives at least 5 miles over the posted speed limit, sometimes ten. In the highway no matter what the posted speed limit is we drive 70 minimum. STAY OUTTA THE LEFT LANE, that's for Nascar drivers lolol. It's 50/50 if we use s blinker, so always be aware of an unannounced lane change. We tow like n no body's business, please make sure you park where you're supposed to because they will take your rental QUICK. Check your route before you leave so you have an idea of where your turns are because we are impatient with folks who don't know where they're going, lol.
We open doors say please and thank you yes sir and yes ma'am. I hope everyone who comes truly enjoys my state and please be safe!!!

Thanks for the advice. We did get a rental car but may use Uber as well. I was worried about driving from our first hotel (in East Plano), but moved to a hotel just a straight shot down from the stadium, and don't need to get on the highway to get there. Not gonna lie, but the 6 lanes and toll roads confuse the sh!t outta meBobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:17 pmListen to the resident Texan.. use uber. I hate the dfw area. Not sure how Frisco stacks up to College Station, but when we were there for the A&M game in 2007, the locals were incredibly pleasant. Everywhere we went... "How y'all doin? Everybody treatin' you ok?" And I mean everywhere! We had a local drop a couple hundred on us at Northgate because he refused to let his new friends pay for anything.

I'm sure this has been said in another thread...but PSA for those that didn't go last year: Frisco is a Texas suburb that is not walkable whatsoever. All the nightlife, bars, restaurants, etc. are spread out and I don't remember any that were reasonable walking distance from each other. Our group was constantly bar hopping to meet up with people, but every bar seemed like it was at least a 15 minute drive away from each other. Plan accordingly and either designate a sober driver for the duration of the trip, or use Uber religiously!

College Station is more country than Frisco. Frisco is a suburb of dfw, college Station is trait just country in comparison lolol. You'll still get the same type treatment but there are more "city" folk in Frisco lolol.RUACAT wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 9:42 amThanks for the advice. We did get a rental car but may use Uber as well. 6 lanes is small to me. In the i10 corridor on the west of Texas is the largest highway in the world lolol of I'm not mistaken its 20-22 lanes wide when you include the feeders, lol. But its easy easier to navigate, dfw is terrible. Be safe friend

Great advice, it isn't like being downtown. Everything is 20mins or more away from each other. With the increased traffic expect 30mins or more, ijs. The cops will be out so please be safe and smart.CaturdaysR4TheBoys wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:30 amI'm sure this has been said in another thread...but PSA for those that didn't go last year: Frisco is a Texas suburb that is not walkable whatsoever. Also an optinon is Lyft.
I use Lyft more often then Uber because I can tie my Delta Frequent Flyer account to my Lyft account and you get sky miles for every ride and you get 2x the miles if you use it to/from the airport.
I also have Uber on my phone, sometimes if it's busy it's a good idea to price check on both apps and then pick the lower fare one. Just fyi
