Re: Staff. Who do we bring in?
Johnson will hurt but we have had two great OL coaches in a row so I trust Vigen to find a great replacement. I think the loss of Walker is a good thing. Housewright was more creative and called a better game but he had his off field issues and did not treat the players well. I think we (Vigen) can do better.

Thought someone said McEndoo’s son is a fullback and entered the portal after his dad was let go. Could be a replacement for Rohan and Al Johnson.
Punters are people too!!

Re: Staff. Who do we bring in?
His son already got an offer from Reno. I’d be shocked if McEndoo came back here to coach.

They were at the national championship game. Not saying it’s wouldn’t happen but it’s a possibility.

Re: Staff. Who do we bring in?
Vigen doesn't seem to rush things like hiring new staff but I do wonder when we'll hear about replacements? Will there be inside moves or guys coming from other programs? Obviously with playing in the NC and focusing there, Vigen may have missed out on some good candidates, but hopefully the cupboard isn't totally bare.

If Udy doesn't get promoted to OC does he look to leave? I think he took a pay cut to stay from when he was Choate's OC.

If he doesn't get some kind of promotion he's nearing Elijah Elliot territory on the coaching staff.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:55 amIf Udy doesn't get promoted to OC does he look to leave? I think he took a pay cut to stay from when he was Choate's OC.

I'm afraid you're right. He stayed loyal and should be rewarded for that, imocoloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:45 amIf he doesn't get some kind of promotion he's nearing Elijah Elliot territory on the coaching staff.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:55 amIf Udy doesn't get promoted to OC does he look to leave? I agree on Udy but I also trust Vigen and his replacement hires, minus WMG.

Re: Staff. Who do we bring in?
I don't know if I'd go that far. He's been retained every year and has coached multiple positions. If he was worthy of the OC role and the best candidate he'd have the job. His reward has been the variety of positions he had the opportunity to coach here which has made him a better coach than just being an OC. I hope he stays as he seems to have done a good job but if he got an opportunity for another team I wouldn't be disappointed.nanacat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:49 amI'm afraid you're right. He was running the offense Vigen wanted, and called games well. Lets not diminish the season because of the way it ended.gtapp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:27 amYes but he was basically running Housewrights offense with Great players.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:21 pmBetter?! Sure, it's possible. I believe I saw Aigbedion at the game too, not sure if he is coming back, but it's possible.BlueNGoldTilIDie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:37 pmThey were at the national championship game. Not saying it’s wouldn’t happen but it’s a possibility.

Re: Staff. Who do we bring in?
This question of play calling Monday has been bugging me. This was the "run the damn ball" team. Imagine if we come out throwing and it misses, and we get down 21-3. The howls from the fans would still be echoing today. The run game got us where we got to. Arguably we could have adjusted sooner but there were plenty of pass plays called in the first half that didn't work because of constant pressure, inaccurate throws, dropped balls, etc. The bottom line is we got outplayed by a team that looked more ready to play than we did. Put that blame wherever you like but I really don't have an issue with the game plan, and i think it's a stretch to say walker/Vigen's offense will be better off without walker here. We loved it all year long. We didn't play complimentary football Monday (D got worked for long stretches) and that made the offense look worse.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:30 amHe was running the offense Vigen wanted, and called games well.
