Re: Nashville > Frisco
I think two things contributed to the congestion, which was AWFUL.
#1, Cat fans just aren't used to having to get into stadiums super early so I think everyone waited a little too long to get into their seats.
#2, No one knew where their seats were since 99.9% of the people going into the stadium had never been there. So a lot of stopping out of the tunnels, looking around trying to figure out where to go.
I was in my seat early with minimal congestion (about an hour before kickoff), and with about 45 minutes left before kickoff I had to pee so I decided to fight my way backwards to use the restroom. It took me 30 minutes!

Re: Nashville > Frisco
The stadium definitely had the college feel which I love instead of a comfy soccer stadium designed for you to be sitting down. Fans from three rows away were high fiving and interacting which isn't easy in Frisco.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:57 pmCount me in the Nashville camp. I loved it. Yes, the flight options weren't great, but everything else about it, including the Nashville airport, was better than Dallas and Frisco.
Sure, the Vandy stadium had some issues, but it was so much better than Frisco. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
We were on press box side and I didn't think the layout, bathrooms or concessions were a problem. The steps to get to the seats on that side were wide and steep without hand rails. It was pretty tough on the knees without anything to push on. That was my one complaint the whole game.
We left tailgate about 5 so maybe we were ahead of the crowd. Went down at half time bathroom, soda refill and a quick stop for a beer for husband back in plenty of time.
I did notice 2 trips to bathroom one half of ladies bathroom was wide open. Good line out but "accidentally" entered from exit side and the whole backside was open. "Accidentally" repeated the 2nd time just to see. Yep, same thing whole back side no one was there but slow moving line on entrance side. Really unsure on what that was.

Absolutely Nashville hands down. Stadium is perfect size. Great places to eat, drink and be entertained. And Nashville was really pumped to have us. I hope we are back next year! Let’s start a run like NDSU did!

The Dallas Airport is the dirtiest airport I've been in. I used to say Denver was my least favorite, just because its kind of boring. But at least its clean.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:57 pmCount me in the Nashville camp. I loved it. Listened to @Colter_Nuanez 's radio show where he had Sam Herder on. Sam mentions that there were multiple cities in town to check it out and the atmosphere and the game had to have made alot of people interested in hosting that. He said Nashville has the game for next year too and while I thought the game is going back to Frisco, he said its back up for bid after next year.

The only complaint I have heard is the price gouging on the tickets. We could have waited and bought one there for 46$ instead of 250 online.

It's just a really old stadium with concourses that are smaller than modern standards.thisnamesucks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:37 pmFor those of you who attended; was the congestion/issues more of a lay out issue or was Vandy a bit unprepared for the turnout?
That said, they got people into the stadium about 10x faster than Frisco, and everything else about Nashville was better than Frisco ... except maybe flight connections.

I’m sure there’s a lot that goes into it, but huge miss by the NCAA to make entry level tickets $160. This isn’t the FBS, grow the division by making it affordable for reasonably bad seats. Thank god for third party retailers like SeatGeek.centralmtfan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 10:40 amThe only complaint I have heard is the price gouging on the tickets. Re: Nashville > Frisco
Considering that I paid $500 per ticket for the last two in Frisco, these tickets direct from the NCAA seemed downright cheap. The prices didn't seem to discourage anyone from making the trip. The flight and hotel was still 5x or more of the ticket price. The FCS championship is a big deal ... as evidenced by 18,000 Bobcats making the trip.Msucat5 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:23 pmI’m sure there’s a lot that goes into it, but huge miss by the NCAA to make entry level tickets $160. Unless I read it wrong, the seat numbers were reversed comparing the seating map to those in the stadium. I had seats 1 and 2 on the aisle, but when I found my seat, they were in the opposite direction from midfield and in the center of the two aisles.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
Yeah....seat numbers were bizarre. In our section, the first seat the in row would be seat 1 and then it would count up. The next row the seat directly behind seat 1 was seat 35 and would count down....and there were a few seats missing. We asked the usher about it and he said "yeah, don't look at the numbers on the seats" We were able to figure it out by cramming everyone in, but there was definitely a lot of confusion.RobertSebastianCat-81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:49 pmUnless I read it wrong, the seat numbers were reversed comparing the seating map to those in the stadium. Re: Nashville > Frisco
My $183 Commodore Club tickets from NCAA is the least I’ve ever paid for game tickets and the airline plus VRBO were less than Frisco for our crew as well. We booked those early and I’d change nothing except never flying American again.SonomaCat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:25 pmConsidering that I paid $500 per ticket for the last two in Frisco, these tickets direct from the NCAA seemed downright cheap. Re: Nashville > Frisco
I hear you! And it’s simple economics - if 18k people will pay $160 bucks for tickets, then you charge $160! I just can’t help but feel like $160 for row 82 is overkill, if those tickets are ~$90, you might see more SEC/Vanderbilt fans check out the cheap FCS National championship game. All water under the bridge when the resale is $40 prior to game time, so I’m just complaining to complain!SonomaCat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:25 pmConsidering that I paid $500 per ticket for the last two in Frisco, these tickets direct from the NCAA seemed downright cheap. Tickets were easy to get and always have been. But my gosh those airline prices were ridiculous. I don't see that going away, but if an argument was ever to be made in favor of somewhere besides Nashville, my guess is airfare would be top of the list.
Nashville was incredible. But paying 2k a ticket to fly there likely kept even more fans from taking over the city for a weekend.

Loved Nashville. I was disappointed in the fenced off tailgate area. I only saw 2 egress points- both only 4' wide. Then they had the outhouses outside that tailgate area, so you had to go through the choke point each way to use them. WTF?
Mony Mony got old really fast and was an embarrassing look for the school and great state of Montana.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
I had 2 issues with Nashville
1. The cost of everything was sky high. My first cocktail at Barstool was $22. One small music venue added a $3 surcharge for every credit card swipe.
2. I saw many geriatric or heavyset or physically impaired people had to be helped up past me in row 52. I saw a couple areas near the south end zone where these folks could have sat in chairs but, not many.
Getting around town was easy for us. We stayed halfway between Broadway and Vandy so we could walk if we wanted.
Wild how every bar all over town had live music....and they were all good.
Overall, I liked Nashville better but, they have to do a better job providing seating or communicating where handicapped seating is.

I had to navigate the steep stairs just before 1/2 time. I didn't drink in the stadium because of an old bladder.
