I agree with you. There was just so much being said about the slight, or no slight, etc. that I wanted to hear it for myself. And then, instead of saying nothing I chose to post because I can. Totally time to move on!BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:07 amThis whole conversation is dumb.
Who cares if they slighted us? Maybe the did, maybe they didn't, we won. Their players talked trash, our players talked trash, the game is over, we won. There doesn't need to be a bad guy.

I find myself agreeing with most of your posts these days. Football is a violent game played with some violent people who frankly are wired a bit differently than those of us critiquing them. I only played high school in football and it’s not at all the same as playing at either of the Montana FCS programs in terms of the locker room and what it takes to get players who crave winning.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:07 amThis whole conversation is dumb.

The morning radio guys were talking about this in Helena. One of the radio hosts is a HUUUGE gris fan. The other is neutral, as he didn't grow up in Montana and doesn't have a rooting interest.
The gris homer said this is a black eye for the program, MSU needs to make a public statement and discipline him...blah blah blah.
The neutral radio guy says: Handle it within the program, it's no one else's business, so no need to address publicly. At most, sit him for the first series of the game. It's not that big of a deal.
I wasn't going to post any more on this for the week....and I made it all the way to 8:38 am on Monday....haha.

Glad I didn't hear Scott say that on air. I would've stopped at the station on the way to work and gave him a piece of my mindwbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:38 amThe morning radio guys were talking about this in Helena. I have a feeling that after all this talk, Julius is going to shut everyone up by having a MONSTER game on Friday night. I think MSU as a team will also come out very fired up to have a better performance than what they showed last Saturday. Can't wait!

So what did the gris announcer have to say about hawk telling his QB "f... you" on national TV?wbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:38 amThe morning radio guys were talking about this in Helena. This whole Davis deal would have been nothing if ESPN had cut away right after the game like they usually do. Must have had airtime to fill
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.

It's ESPN. The first letter in their name isn't S(ports) it's E(ntertainment). Of course they're going to focus on the spectacle, also known as the ESPN-ification of sports. The game was only on ESPN so they would have kept the cameras rolling for another hour if it served their purposes.catscat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 10:01 amSo what did the gris announcer have to say about hawk telling his QB "f... you" on national TV?wbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:38 amThe morning radio guys were talking about this in Helena. I don't think it was necessarily wrong to show it but the way they did it was definitely for "content" purposes.
Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!
And a kick away from a championship.
Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Nobody realizes that this is a secret plot of Davis and Vigen to bring Bobcat Nation together as one in a shirtless group hug. I agree with both of you as well...and even take it a step further that I agree with that OldGriz feller in one of his comments about Murray.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 10:31 amMan, look at us!PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:34 amI find myself agreeing with most of your posts these days. I feel that the "Real School" comment and the chippiness was entirely my fault due to my Nerds-based Look-Alike thread. I'll carry that guilt until I get time to complete the SFA Look-Alike thread tonight.

There cannot and will not be a kombaya moment until you publicly apologize for crediting "I'd like to teach the world to sing..." to Pepsi instead of Coca-Cola!!!lutecat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 2:01 pmNow if we can only get @Cataholic in on this kombaya moment....everyone lets break out in song..."I'd like to teach the world to sing...." like the Pepsi commercial.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 10:31 amMan, look at us!PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:34 amI find myself agreeing with most of your posts these days. Re: Julius Davis
I respect Juice's fire and passion. He gave everything he has to be on this team. To fight through injuries and adversity, and be willing to stay here when I'm sure he had offers to go elsewhere. I know he loves this team and they love him right back.
I respect Coach Vigen and the concern he has for his players. I truly believe he was looking out for Juice in that moment. Feels like a father/son relationship and he really cares for Julius. You could tell Coach was getting emotional just talking about Julius in the presser today.
That said, if you're not part of that locker room, if you're not on that field bleeding for the rest of those teammates, if you were not on that field in the middle of that interaction, then you have no business providing commentary about it. You don't know what was said - before, during, or after. This team is stronger, maybe even stronger than last year's squad (which I thought would never be possible). They will take care of this internally. Team leaders and coaches will make sure everyone learns from this and move on. Sure, everyone can have an opinion, but this is one of those instances where no one's opinion means jack-squat. All that matters is between Juice and Coach.
How would you like your family grievances and disagreements aired on national media? I'm sure most of us would be embarrassed as hell with some of the stuff that goes on in our lives. Cut the young man and Coach some slack. No one is ever in a position where they can't be human and make a mistake. Life provides us with learning opportunities every single day. This is small potatoes compared to other crap that goes on in programs across the country.
