I was hoping the CATS would be moving beyond this thinking. You've improved enough that post season play should be how you grade your year. Make it sucesseful - dont make it unsucessful.WolfPtCat wrote:Oh well, the dream is over. No more playoff, BUT we still salvage one heck of a season with a win next weekend. Remember 1-10 is a great season, as long as the win is against you know who.

Well, with a postseason chance now gone, this is the positive outlook that has to be taken. It wasn't what people were thinking a couple weeks ago, but now it's the only silver lining left.Eastcoastgriz wrote:I was hoping the CATS would be moving beyond this thinking. Well, I was at the game. I saw a lot of great things, but there were also too many bad things, which obviously results in a loss. I think that Gatewood will really be a great asset to us next year. The biggest problem in my mind was Cory Austin getting taken to town by Kimble, every time he played up close. Kimble is a great player, and Meyer is a good quarterback, although I would take Lulay every day over him. EWU simply outplayed us, and they won because of it. I do really have one huge problem with the playcalling from the 2 yard line though. I would think that Justin Domineck up the middle 4 times would result in a touchdown. We have the big back, why not use him?
Next year will also be fun to watch, and look on the bright side, we are looking like a very awesome team next year. I am not just looking forward to next year though, next week will be huge. Unfortunately, I cannot make it to the game, but will be screaming my lungs out while watching the television.
Congratulations to our seniors who played their hearts out today. They will be missed next year, but they still have a good chance to show what they are made of one last time.

Spoken like a true loser. I'm soo glad that the Cats still have fans that think like you,(by the way thats sarcasim). You should rethink your calling yourself a Cat fan.WolfPtCat wrote:Oh well, the dream is over. No more playoff, BUT we still salvage one heck of a season with a win next weekend. Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

From my opinion, the sting of today's loss and the suddenly atrocious defense hurts so much that even a victory next Saturday won't do much for making me happy. Making the post-season superceded everything in my opinion.
Next week will only decrease the sting of today a little but the season was essentially over after today's loss.......

And what exactly does a true winner say right now? He's just trying to be a little positive in the face of a tough loss. If we win next week, it certainly puts a nice(r) end to the season.badasscat wrote:Spoken like a true loser. What do you suggest? Talking trash to Griz fans on message boards and making references to how big and tough you are via your keyboard (as per earlier today)?
Or, rather, does a true winner just give up now and whine and bitch about this loss and then concede next week's game without a fight?
Really, please do tell me what a true winner does right now.

A winner certianly doesn't say that if we go 1_10, but beat the jizz it's a good season. I actually played for the Cats so I know from experience how tough todays loss is. While I was playing I hated and still hate hearing people who say they are fans say we could loose every game but one and call the season a good one. A winner finds the resolve to take todays loss and last weeks for that matter and use it as fuel to use against the jizz. A winner strives for a winning record not a loosing record, so long as we beat the jizz. I spent 5 years hearing that loser mantality and we need to get rid of it. As far as talking trash via the keyboard people do it here everyday, and it fun to do every once and awhile. So I talked a little trash who cares, it's all in fun, sorry you take things so personally.Bay Area Cat wrote:And what exactly does a true winner say right now? I'm not the one calling another Cat fan a loser. You are. You're the one taking things personally. As for the 1-10 comment, I believe he was employing hyperbole to make a point -- I really doubt he is wishing for a 1-10 season.badasscat wrote:A winner certianly doesn't say that if we go 1_10, but beat the jizz it's a good season. It just pisses me off when people start the "You're not a real fan" B.S. at every perceived slight. Nobody's happy about the loss, but we don't need to pile on people who try to float a little optimism in the face of a defeat.

Outside of a defensive meltdown that sealed our fate today, it has obviously resulted in a few disgruntled fellas like myself.
Other than the game BAC, it seems like someone else s*it in your
Wheaties today. My first thought with Wolf Pt Cat's comment made me feel the same as BadAssCat, but it simmered shortly thereafter....

I'm not saying that I'm a bigger fan than anyone else. To put it like you, "it pisses me off" when I hear people make that damn 1-10 comment. It's just bad and I hate hearing it, and "winners" don't think like that.Bay Area Cat wrote:I'm not the one calling another Cat fan a loser. You are. You're the one taking things personally.
