For what it's worth the Cats are rated #1 in "offensive power to score" by Massey.

So maybe this has been discussed before and I missed it, but Lamson has FBS experience, though he wasn't a starter, and had played in some big venues. How would those compare to WAGriz? And, does his previous experience, combined with this season, give him an edge over AhYat who had to share time last year and only has this year as the full time guy?

He played in Eugene THIS season(and last I think). Not like he hasn't seen anything like the mecca...nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:31 pmSo maybe this has been discussed before and I missed it, but Lamson has FBS experience, though he wasn't a starter, and had played in some big venues. Very true, and I did consider that being significantly larger, and probably louder, than "The mecca"technoCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:37 pmHe played in Eugene THIS season(and last I think). Our family was underwhelmed by Eugene. the joint over hill is loud but we shouldn’t say that crap out loud because there will be multiple disjointed elbows patting themselves on the back.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:48 pmVery true, and I did consider that being significantly larger, and probably louder, than "The mecca"technoCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:37 pmHe played in Eugene THIS season(and last I think). I think the energy of the game and fans whether it’s in Bozeman or Missoula will outperform most non rivalry games in the country.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 11:59 pmOur family was underwhelmed by Eugene. the joint over hill is loud but we shouldn’t say that crap out loud because there will be multiple disjointed elbows patting themselves on the back.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:48 pmVery true, and I did consider that being significantly larger, and probably louder, than "The mecca"technoCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:37 pmHe played in Eugene THIS season(and last I think). Was going to say this and I’ll add he probably knows a lot of those players and some might have been jealous of him going to Stanford and were mocking him for ending up FCS like them.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 6:47 pmHe is from that area, brother played for UCD, had family here. I would think that added some hype to him.RyeCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 3:34 pmHe was FIRED up. I didn’t catch that live but definitely did on the rewatch. I wonder what in particular set him off.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 3:24 pmGotta love a QB trash talking the entire other team all the way from the end zone to the bench after delivering the nail in the coffin.

Re: Justin Lamson Transfers in
Duck fans saw that game as a Labor Day weekend scrimmage and it basically was one from the first drive. I certainly didn’t expect much considering the students don’t start classes until late September. Still had fun but if that’s your only Autzen experience, I’d be underwhelmed too.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 11:59 pmOur family was underwhelmed by Eugene. the joint over hill is loud but we shouldn’t say that crap out loud because there will be multiple disjointed elbows patting themselves on the back.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:48 pmVery true, and I did consider that being significantly larger, and probably louder, than "The mecca"technoCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:37 pmHe played in Eugene THIS season(and last I think). The USC game this Saturday will be a genuine Autzen game in one of the best atmospheres in college football. I still think ESPN should have gone to Missoula this weekend for Gameday, but I guess they found Missoula as smelly and isolated as the rest of us Bobcat fans. At least Bozeman has a real airport.

Oregon playing an FCS team won’t have anywhere near the same energy as UM playing MSU. It’s like when we play Mercyhurst. The conclusion of the game is already known and the crowd doesn’t really have to get into it.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 10:31 pmSo maybe this has been discussed before and I missed it, but Lamson has FBS experience, though he wasn't a starter, and had played in some big venues. Playing at WaGriz with the conference title and #2 seed on the line is going to be very difficult. With the way Lamson has started out the last couple weeks, it’s a definite area of concern. I don’t think his FBS experience or playing at Oregon give him a significant edge.

Imagine how fired up Lamson is going to be the first time he gets an ankle twisted after a run or a late hit after a throw. It might take the whole OL to hold him back.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

It's now clear that Lamson is a fierce competitor, and I love that. I'm going to enjoy watching him take it all personally, use it as motivation, and torch the griz.coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:22 amImagine how fired up Lamson is going to be the first time he gets an ankle twisted after a run or a late hit after a throw. Ya people overblow the FBS experience big time. This is the best rivalry in the nation and we're playing in the best venue in the FCS. I don't care about the size of the stadium. We could play Ohio State in front of 200,000 for all I care. It won't touch the noise factor and hostility of a Brawl played in Missoula.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:15 amOregon playing an FCS team won’t have anywhere near the same energy as UM playing MSU. I fully understand the scrimmage feel but there was really not a “show” to start the pregame fun.PapaG wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:11 amDuck fans saw that game as a Labor Day weekend scrimmage and it basically was one from the first drive. Tommy was an amazing player for the Bobcats, just awesome. But I'm so happy we got Lamson. He's got moxie, and has the team totally behind him. He was the right man for the job!

His post game interview was fire. He hears you all talking ****** about him and is fired up to prove oldgriz, spark and blitz among many others talking ******. He reads Bobcatnation and he apparently thrives off it!

Probably doesn't. The narrative of him understanding the rivalry and noise was pretty prevalent across most media coverage all week.

Most players do. He probably does, it showed, he brought it up and shut down his doubters. I’m here for it!
