My thoughts exactly! I realize filling Cruzado's shoes will be nearly impossible but with these two finalists it's like they didn't even try.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 6:07 amBoy I’m underwhelmed with these 2 guys.wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 7:00 pmI’ve worked with Brock. A former UM guy? Really? No, hard no.
And there's just nothing that jumps with the other guy at all.
Disappointed to say the least.

I allegedly rode my bike at 55 mph down the frontage road from the top of Bozeman Pass. Pretty fun, allegedly.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 10:01 amYes, I'm bored and this has nothing to do with Bobcat sports. Anyway, for folks that have driven the road from Livingston to Bozeman will immediately recognize this old photo.
Or this one driving down the hill into downtown. The second building on the left is still there and is currently being restored.

I do have a family member who got a chance to meet WC right after she was hired and he told me last fall that, at the time, he didn't think she would last very long here. He said it wasn't very long before he realized his first impression was all wrong. So, I guess we can keep that in mind when looking at these finalists.

Someone from the California university system and another who spent time learning in the UM community? Neither system is what I would call a healthy business model. Crizado was so successful at spurring new on campus development and recruitment of students. She understood how athletics helped in those goals. I would love to see more on their philosophies.RICO CAT wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:30 amWhich one is the former um guy? A lot of people were also underwhelmed with Cruzado when she was hired. Hard to judge based purely on resumes when none of us (I assume) have been part of the search process.

Interacted with him roughly 10 or so years ago when he first moved from UM to OCHE. Came across as smug and pretentious with a huge ego. But that was quite a few years ago. I’m hopeful he’s grown, matured and has an enhanced sense of self awareness.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 11:03 amSomeone from the California university system and another who spent time learning in the UM community? My biggest worry is that he is tight with clay christian. Waded would regularly put clay in his place and forge her own route in spite of the commissioners office. We all know Clay tries hard to tilt the funding scale in favor of UM.

I haven't posted in a while, but felt the need to offer my opinion. I wholeheartedly echo @wbtfg's sentiments here. Tessman by no means should be a valid candidate. He's a product of an inept and ineffective Montana Office of Higher Education department and was handpicked by Clay Christian. Wanna know the difference between an effective leader and an ineffective leader?? Waded Cruzado was hired by Sheila Sterns, who was OCHE Commissioner at the time, and probably the department's best leader ever. Christian hired Seth Bodner to lead UM. You tell me who the better hire was?wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 7:00 pmI’ve worked with Brock. He’s a DBag. I vote for the other guy.
If Tessman is named the next president of MSU, I will be seriously considering pulling any and all of my financial support for the university, based on my personal experience.
