EWU could struggle with the condition of the field (no joke)

In their game against Nicholls, in a quagmire, they had countless turnovers.

If the Bobcats hunker down and play mistake free football -- capitalize on broken Eagle plays then they come away with what I see as an upset....

I wanted to wait until I heard the Bobcast this week before I made my prediction.

Beau Clark was on it and after hearing him talk I know the Cats are prepared to play their best this weekend. Eastern will be tough, but for once I think we will play at the top of our game both offensively and DEFENSIVELY. It will probabaly be a game in the mid thirties.

If we come to play MSU 38 EWU 34
If we turn the ball over and make mistakes (penalties) EWU 42 MSU 27
If the Bobcat crowd gets into it MSU 48 EWU 28

The key to this weekend game is stopping Kimble. This guy is a stud and he rolled over us last year. He will play at the next level.

I would double team Kimble every play and let them try to beat us with the running game. I hope they dont use Kimble at running back. This guy can do it all.

1) Nick, we may indeed struggle with the weather and lead to turnovers. It was nice last Sat. and we still turned the ball over four times. If we hadn't Cal Poly would have had but 7 points. 2) BobCatFan, I would double team Kimble as well. With our starting RB out from last weeks separated shoulder I would force us to beat you on the ground. Meyer will get his yards but if MSU can limit the big play it really tightens things up. 3) Man gecko every time you post the attendance on that Joe Albi game it goes up for the Griz. UM did have more fans(as did MSU) but it was closer to 10K vs 7K. Next post you'll probably have it 16,999 for UM and a three legged dog with a EWU bandanna.

That will be a given this week. Again, when you hear the metal siding/bleachers being pounded on from the student side, MAKE SOME NOISE! LOTS OF IT. That was started at end of Portland State game and carried over into the SDSU game early. And it was loud w/o a lot of fans being there. So you hear that sound, SCREAM! :)

The if this, if that, if something else method of predicting is quite tempting, but I'll only go with one score...

I'm the non-Bobcat fan (according to some) who predicted MSU would not win their final 4 games, but for some strange reason I've got a good feeling about this one. I say a weird game, with plenty of turnovers, blocked kicks, safetys, whatever you can imagine...

Bad weather only suppresses the fans who never cheer anyway. On the other hand, it gets hardcore fans riled up. Look to the end of the Cal-Poly game, when the student section exploded as the rain came in.
Bozeman can get a lot colder than Cheney. EWU does most of its recruiting in Washington. The fact is, Washingtonians love to talk about how cold it is there, but when they come to Montana, they are the first to whine during the cold snaps. All the Bobcat starters have had a few years to get used to playing in cold weather. I wonder what the coldest temperature of the season for EWU is?
During the Griz playoff runs of 2000/2001, weather was a huge advantage. Opposing teams simply couldn't cope with the cold. Players would get injuries, sprains and the like, since they didn't know how to play cold weather football. The Griz WRs definately had an advantage over the DBs due to the weather.
So, put on your warmest parka and gloves, and hope the weatherman is wrong.
Prediction forthcoming tommorow.

I picked the game right last week... contrary to my plan. So this week, I'm riding my correct picking streak:

MSU 33
EWU 28

A fifty yard Cochrane FG to end the first half and a late safety to bring us to the oddball score.

The thought of Jensen out for the year, and Hirst not 100% makes me think this will be a tough one for the Cats to win. However, we all know how the Cats play with their backs to the wall! Remember Portland State two years ago and a very good Eastern Washington team that came to town. Both games our backs were against the wall because of injuries and slow season starts.

Something awesome is going to happen that we will be talking about for years to come. Somebody is going to step up and have a game or a play that will be remembered. My guess it is going to be on defense and by somebody in the secondary.

Cats win a tight one on the back of this individuals play or game.

Cats 31
EWU 28

Stay tuned!

GO CATS!!

no doubt we escape with a narrow victory, but in order not to have another heart attack- i would love to see our defense score once. if that happens, we go to Missoula, stomp the hell out of them and go to the playoffs as 3-time BSC Champions. Cats- 24 Eagles-13

Well, for better or worse, the weatherman was right. It's going to come down to which team plays better. Or, defensive miracles.

Cheney is not exactly tropical paradise. Bad weather would suppress the crowd. Why not finish the home season in comfort, as predicted?
I have been to games that were so cold and miserable that only diehards were there. Tommorrow though, the cold won't matter. Fans will pack the stands and it will be so damn loud that the CATS will be riding high all day long.

CATS==41
eagles==13

We will shut down the eagles and get some defensive points; as well as some special teams points. ewu will be awestruck with the speed of our defense and Lulay will go over 400.

I was so High on life last week that I thought the griz were going to lose and the cats would win easy. I was wrong both ways.
Since bay area cat changed his method I think I will take over his job and try some reverse psychology.
Cats will lose 38-21
Griz will win 44-28
Lets hope this works.
