he was just trying to save face - ya know if champ acted like a total moron and a rude punk during games at the state rival i am sure there would be a punk from bobcat land with the same exact post...its called trying to distract people from an embarassing topic or a topic that is not good for the school - i have seen it done beforebronco wrote:Monte's old name was Otto.
There is nothing stopping you from changing co-champs name....nobody knows the name now so it would be easy. A cat jersey with the new name on his back would do it.
I've was posting on your old free ESPN site years ago that you needed a new costume. The face is what is scary...the expression. he has the look of too many face lifts...like Joan Rivers.
I used to post that with all the engineers on campus you didn't have a good message board....you changed that.
Now get rid of the Mountain Lion sound track or change the name to the Montana State lions.

Took me 20 posts to get you thinking about having a good message board so I only have 10 to go on my other pet peeves. Just making observations...you can consider them or not...it's your program. It's constructive consideration not smack.
If you want a mascot that scares kids....keep him the same.
I think the Bobby name was a good suggestion.

If they use it, I want royalties! I need to add a circled little "R" around that name. Anyone know a good lawyer?bronco wrote:...I think the Bobby name was a good suggestion.

At Thursday night's Lady Griz game vs Sac State, Monte came on to the court just before the start of the game. He was handcuffed and led by a campus cop. He had his head down in a shameful way until he was uncuffed. He did several flips and then on with the show.
I can understand how he could get on Cat nerves real fast. Some of the things he does here are over the top, but "he" is a couple of freshmen and they will mature.

Umm, yeah. We had never thought about any of that, especially a good message board, until you mentioned it. You have to start getting some copyrights on your ideas -- you're practically giving away millions of dollars with each post.bronco wrote:Took me 20 posts to get you thinking about having a good message board so I only have 10 to go on my other pet peeves. The stint with the campus police was obviously a joke.northerncat wrote:At Thursday night's Lady Griz game vs Sac State, Monte came on to the court just before the start of the game. The new people in the Monte suit are simply testing the waters with what they can get away with. The old Monte did alot of stuff that was fun/funny but knew his boundaries -- give them time, these kids will progress.
Now why have you spent 3 pages ranting about a mascot? Can Champ atleast get his head sewn on? (literally)

A buddy reported to me that Monte showed at the last Missoula game being led onto the court in handcuffs, ushered by a cop. He had his head down and looked embarrassed until the cuffs were removed.
He said that Monte time is split between two freshmen this year and that Monte has some maturing to do.
Let's not whine about Monte but get Champ to the same level. Surely we can have a mascot that competes with theirs.

BAC: You must be so proud! He's so over the top he must be a Griz fan...
And no, I'm not a Girlz (<----hehe mistyped it - I LIKE it!) fan. Fizzoula is a stinking hellhole that should be filled in with piles of elephant dung!!
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I think we're missing something when we have had treads asking what can be done to make our gameday experiences better. Champ is one of those "little things" that makes for an incredible Bobcat weekend for kids, although last year my kids were scared to death of him but now can't wait to go high-five the "costume." Now that they're older, they think he's a blast which serves to make my other half's weekend a tad bit better (she somehow thinks every event should be like one in Athens, Georgia or the Biggest Floating Coctail Party in the World in Jacksonville every year). Anyway, she's also of the mindset that thinks when the band is done performing at halftime, it's time to go home
I'd love to have one of our local dealers give Champ a four wheeler or one of those mini-semi trucks and run over Mutty's motorcycle. Besides, Sam Houston's Kat won the award this year so Mutty's just a washed up has been
I can't wait to see what happens if we win out and host; it'd be great to see Champ bring Monte out in a jail cell before the kids start laughing and going crazy. Guess I've been to too many rodeos where the clowns are the main feature for small kids.

I know this is pretty irrelivant at this point, but I'm not sure where you've been. Monte won THE award for the second time, Capital One Mascot of the Year. Sam Houston's Kat won a ten minute dance competition at a cheerleading contest.Cat Grad wrote: Besides, Sam Houston's Kat won the award this year so Mutty's just a washed up has been.
