Re: The Bobby Hauck Show (concerning Bostick)
I watched the show last night, and at first when listening to him I was thinking, "Is he calling some of their injured players average?" He mentions Bostick "TE" but slips and stumbles and kind of pieces the whole statement together. It seemed to me that he was making a general statement; if you lose average skill players you'll be ok, however if you lose your two top QBs and thrust in a sophomore, you could have a tough time to over come that.
That's kind of how I saw it, I've noticed at times Bobby can stumble over statements a little bit, personally I don't think he was ripping on Bostick, IMO.

Re: The Bobby Hauck Show (concerning Bostick)
It happened. I don't know that Bobby started it or encouraged it. But I lingered in the stadium until nearly all of the players were gone. After singing to the crowd the team went to the center of the field and gathered to accept the trophy. The seniors and some staff had their photos taken with it and then they circled around. Their spritual leader and former player, Mike McGown talked to the team. Bobby talked to the team and then the all came together in a group and chanted FTC,FTC. The Weber game was on GrizVision and most of the crowd was watching that game. Then the fans were allowed onto the field.GrizinWashington wrote:Look if it happened, I apologize. I have no spoken to roughly 45 people who were there and not one of them heard it or saw it, so I'll be honest, I have my doubts. I know for a fact it was NOT the entire team yelling, but perhaps a few random kids did. It was not precipitated by Bobby, and the entire team did not participate. Trust me, in that stadium, 100 men yelling FTC would have been audible to EVERYone still in there.
Bottom line is, nothing I say will change any of your minds about Hauck, much like nothing you could say would have made most Griz fans dislike Kramer any less. And nothing you could say would make me believe that Ash is anything but a complete non-factor in this game or the BSC. He's a good guy by all accounts, but as a coach? A non-factor.
I hate to admit it, but I saw it happen.

Re: The Bobby Hauck Show (concerning Bostick)
This whole argument reminds me of last year's whole dust-up about Bobby saying the Cats had the "most-athletic team in the Big Sky".
Everyone on this board jumped ALLLL over him when they heard that, suggesting by that quote that he was dissing the cat's coaching staff. Then, as it turned out, they all thought he said that AFTER the Griz wholloped the cats, not BEFORE as he actually did. I laughed then. And I'm laughing now. Bobby could say, "Good afternoon" to someone and cat fans would find some nefarious meaning in it. I guess when you sit home for the holidays all the time, you've got a lot of time to think about consipiracy theories.

This one doesn't really seem to be all that subtle, actually. If it went down like born2BaGriz says it did, it's kinda hard to laugh about, isn't it?GrizinWashington wrote:This whole argument reminds me of last year's whole dust-up about Bobby saying the Cats had the "most-athletic team in the Big Sky".

After all, you were denying that it happened at all (and you seemed to find the suggestion that it had to be a horrible thing), and now that it is pretty obvious that it DID happen, you really can't go into "ha ha, that's so funny, you guys are making a big deal out of nothing" mode. If that's the way you really thought about it, you wouldn't have made the stink about it you did, right?

I STILL don't believe it happened. No one -- NOT ONE PERSON -- I've spoken with who was there heard it. Re-Max has stated he didn't hear it. I've got serious Q's about B2b and whether he may be similar to a particular fan with a cat handle that you guys all believe is a closet Griz fan.
If it did happen, it was few random players, and not the entire team headed by the coach, as the poster suggests. Even then, I don't condone the action (assuming -- a large assumption -- that it did). But I also don't condone the suggestion that it was done at Hauck's urging, which is silly at best and inflaming at worst.

I didn't hear it at the railing of the North Endzone. But, I was thinging more about a Mo burger than what the team was doing at the Griz logo 70 yards away.

So ... was that quote from the Hauck show also wrong, or was Quinn lying? If neither of the above, it appears quite plausible that Hauck led the cheer (or at very least condones it).

GIW, I was standing on the East stands and saw it happen. As far as questioning my position, check it out. I am an Egriz donor and post under the same name there. I am a former student/athlete who lettered in football with my degree from UM. I have been a season ticket holder since 92 and I have nothing to gain by saying this happened. It was the vast majority if not the entire team, it wasn't overly loud, but it was obvious what was being said. I'm not proud that it happened, but buying into the denial just adds to the problems. I didn't see Bobby or any other coach in the middle of it, so I can't say that he or any other coach knew it happened. It didn't last overly long, but again I swear on my Letterwinner's jacket that it happened.

To be honest hear, I never heard of FTC until FTG was out there so much. I first heard of FTC when it was rumored that Kramer had plates on his vehicle with FTG on it. And it was only after, as is pointed out, that the vast majority of Cat fans have some form of FTG in their sig. Regardless, I don't agree with a team prayer in the field, because I think the only reason it is being done is to be seen doing it. I think if the team wishes to pray together they should do it in the lockerroom. And it the team wants to chant FTC, it shouldn't be for public consumtion.
When Don Read was in Missoula, we had a pre game chant that wasn't against any one team, but it was vulgar. But then it was just said in the tunnel prior to taking the field and was not done in public.

I agree ... the "FTC" thing appears to have evolved from the "FTG" expression.
Neither one really deserves to be a primetime expression ... they are a little lacking in the creativeness area to really be anything more than an occasional random bit of drunken vulgarity.

I didn't hear it happen, but if Born2B said it did I believe him. The question I have is why do Bobcat fans let Bobby get under your skin so much? I could care less what Ash says about the Griz, as long as we beat the Cats. Does it really matter if Hauck said Bostick was average?

Thanks for your candidness and honesty BAC. I have said over and over again that the use of FTG by Bozeman and Bobcat fans in general lacks class and should not be used, especially if they would consider the acronym FTC as offensive. What comes around goes around. For those cat fans that don't like hearing FTC, stop using FTG in your sigs.Bay Area Cat wrote:I agree ... the "FTC" thing appears to have evolved from the "FTG" expression.

I don't mind FTC any more than FTG and FTG has been around long before Kramer, the griz only recently picked up on FTC and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I just don't think we'll ever see MSU team members yelling it at the end of a game. What the fans do and what the team members do are two different matters.elkmcc wrote:Thanks for your candidness and honesty BAC. You hit the nail on the head. You would probably care what Ash said about the griz, if you had lost the last 19 out of 22 so-called rivalry games.anacondagriz wrote:I didn't hear it happen, but if Born2B said it did I believe him. Funny, the best way to shut hauck and any griz fan up would be to actually win a couple rivalry games. Not sure when that will happen again, though...griz are only going to be that much better next season.
Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.
