3m or so to stay at MSU vs maybe 6 at WSU over the same 4 years. Less taxes.tetoncat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:15 pmHe didn't lose 8 million. He either didnt get the offer or turned it down. Can't lose what you didn't have. Also He has a contract at MSU, still making money.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 5:45 pm2 things I took away from the interviews with Vigen and Tommy...Tommy is loyal and expects loyalty. Some of his comments regarding guys choosing to stay and be a part of this or not, and another comment about playing for more than money, made me think he's not a huge fan of the portal.
And with Vigen, it made me wonder if his comment about he and his family being happy in Bozeman, and that he is where his feet are planted was more a "coach-speak" thing because he didn't get the Washington job, so that's what he's telling himself and everyone else to offset the loss of 8 million dollars, or if all those who were saying he was leaving were wrong?
So he maybe turned down (or wasn’t offers) about $1.5-$2 over 4 years.
Some things are more important than money, especially when you are already rich.

Absolutely. Which is why, with longevity at previous schools along with statements Molly made in her interview, I just wasn't convinced he was leaving. However, many other posters were convinced he would follow the money because honestly that's human nature.onceacat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 12:26 am3m or so to stay at MSU vs maybe 6 at WSU over the same 4 years. I appreciated what he shared in his interview that he had shared with the players regarding opportunities he would receive due to their success, just like the portal offers. The offers will come, no doubt, one will be the right one. But for now, building a successful program is his motivation and I hope he'll continue to do that for several more years.

Re: Today's Interviews?
I think he would have taken the job if they met his financial demands and/or worked with him on the timing of the announcement and the championship game. But yeah he not looking to leave for just any job. It'll take a good opportunity and a good number for him to go.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 9:15 amAbsolutely.
