I suppose. I try to never read, watch, listen to or support anything gris related. Obviously, there has to be exceptions with Cat-gris events.

Conference tournament is next weekend in Missoula (they rotate each year who gets to host). Then Utah State will host the Western Regional Tournament Feb 23 - 25, and Nationals is in St. Louis March 14 - 18.

Cats will be the favorite to win the conference tournament. I believe the way it works is if they hold on to the #1 ranking in the west they will get a direct placement into nationals without having to compete for a spot at regionals.

Not enough disinfectant and soap for that, but I tried. It still bothers me that I helped their television ratings.

First round of the MWCHL tournament was today:

#1 Montana State 13 - #8 Utah Valley 3
#4 Providence 3 - #5 Utah State 5
#3 Utah 3 - #6 Montana 1
#2 Weber State 2 - #7 Boise State 1

Cats will play a semi-final game tomorrow against USU @ 4:30. Live stream will the on gris website (https://www.grizhockey.com/video)

Bobcats dominate the 2nd period 5-0 at second intermission. Glacier ice rink even played ‘Mony Mony’ to help set the mood.

I do not claim to understand how this hockey regional vs. nationals works, but from what I understand they took the #1 seed based off regular season performance alone.

Long answer: The national tournament is 16 teams, 4 from each region (Northeast, Southeast, Central, and West). Each region sends 4 teams, with the top 2 teams based on end of year rankings going straight to nationals, and the other 2 spots being decided at the regional tournament. In the western region the final rankings are Cats #1 and Utah #2, so they both qualified for Nationals. The other two teams out of the west will be decided next weekend in the western regional tournament between, Washington, Utah State, TCU, ASU, Cal, Texas, um, Grand Canyon, Colorado, Weber and University of Providence.

Bobcats are currently playing Tech in the Montana Cup being played in Helena. Up 9-0 in the second. Will play the winner of tonight's gris-Argos match up for the Montana Cup title tomorrow night at 7pm.
