I hope to have a Cooper Kupp type turn on Watson in the future. Despite the hurt you put me through, I’m gonna cheer for you cuz you’re an FCS guy. Wound is still a little fresh though…

He was a finalist for the academic Heisman. He should be in charge.Montanabob wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 3:21 pmTwo reasonskennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 2:10 pmIt sure looks like TA is leading the defensive huddle.

Am I just being a cranky SOB or does it seem like the D has been running packages that have excluded Troy about 80% of the time so far? Get that man on the field!

Didn’t play in the series that the American squad just scored on.GavinDonos wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 3:41 pmAm I just being a cranky SOB or does it seem like the D has been running packages that have excluded Troy about 80% of the time so far? Get that man on the field!

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Maybe the Jets staff is just hiding him on the sideline so they can snipe him on draft day. I feel like he is not getting a true chance to showcase his skill set today. At least he had a loud week at practice.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 3:43 pmDidn’t play in the series that the American squad just scored on.GavinDonos wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 3:41 pmAm I just being a cranky SOB or does it seem like the D has been running packages that have excluded Troy about 80% of the time so far? Not a lot of plays going over the middle where Troy was ruling.

Yep, he was out on the last drive in the 4-3. Not much action in his area… and for good reason!

He’s played pretty much every LB position today.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
It seemed to me that Troy was in the game quite a bit. I assume, since it's a game trying to showcase talent, that they would rotate everyone in to make sure everyone gets their chance to show what they can do. It just didn't seem like the opposing team's offense went to his area much at all.

He seemed to be in position where he needed to be each time other than one long run or he pursued the wrong gap and didn’t get off a block and their running back got a very nice gain. Other than that he did pretty well

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
The National Team (Troys) had a defensive line that wreaked havoc all game long. QBs got sacked, flushed out of bounds, threw passes away, and the run game seldomly made it to the second level. Not much action for the LBs.

No blitzing is allowed as well. Troy was a starter for the National team and appeared to be the one lining everyone up. If he knocks out the combine, he's Day 2.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Troy overran Malik Wilson early and missed a tackle on an American team RB at one point.
Other than that, his day was rock solid. He got in on a few tackles, virtually all for little or no gain. His work in coverage was all spot drop zone, but he looked smooth and comfortable working backwards. On one Malik Willis sack, he went down after clutching because Troy dropped in his passing game. I only saw one completion in Troy’s vicinity and it was unclear to me if it was on him.
More to the point, Troy had a great week of practices by all accounts. That’s the more important aspect of the Senior Bowl from a scout’s perspective (or at least that’s what everyone says). With a good combine (which would include good medicals), I think Andersen is locking in a top 100 selection for sure, and could be on he higher end of that range.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Yep biggest thing is that he looked like he belonged out there, which of course we all know he did. Wish he would have been in instead of Chad Muma on last defensive series of the game when Muma just missed a pick. Dunno if TA is quicker/has better foot speed than Muma, i know he's a stud LB as well. If TA does, he'd likely gotten the pick and housed it. Would have loved to see him flaunt his open field running skills with all eyes in the NFL on him...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Some of the analysts viewed Muma as a 2 down linebacker. Converted safety and Anderson more of a 3 down linebacker.
Pat Kirwin thought he was a Belichek type player.
