Colter's easily the best sports interviewer I've ever been around or seen in Montana. He's a professional and really knows how to get coaches and players to engage and expound on topics. Coaches all over the BSC look forward to having him at press conferences.

Also, if you watch all the stuff with Hauck, we mostly get better stuff out of him than the other outlets, for whatever that is worth.
When I get him one on one, which is usually only 4-5
Times a year, he’s excellent.
And if you could see him right when the cameras turn off during those Monday pressers, you’d realize instantly it’s all an act. The motive of the act, nobody will ever know lol

I've been saying this forever. Played in a scramble with him years ago, (ex grandfather-in-law is a big griz booster ) and other than giving me ****** all day for being a Bobcat the guy was great. In a sports realm he's easy to hate but for me it's all in fun. I think the difference is that you ask good questions and the coaches know that you really know football. You've also stayed impartial, even though some of us will perceive a slight once in a while because we're sensitive. Vigen isn't sitting there during an interview thinking "this Griz guy is trying to catch me saying something" and BH isn't having that thought either.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 9:33 amFirst of all, thank you for the kind words, @TomCat88 !ilovethecats wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 8:29 amCodyCat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 7:24 amWell... maybe not one of them.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 8:35 pmColter's easily the best sports interviewer I've ever been around or seen in Montana. Every time I've seen him be a jerk to a reporter, I have to admit it was a pretty dumb or obvious question. These coaches are basically doctorate level guys fielding questions a lot of the time from people who became "experts" on Facebook or something. That has to get old, and I think 90% of the time coaches do a great job of being patient. Even as a small-town high school ASSISTANT coach I would get questions or comments or complaints from people in the community and I'm just thinking "seriously? You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about." Those conversations were nauseating, but if I talked to someone who really knew the sport, I really enjoyed talking to them.

Did you see that last interview? The guy literally said something like, paraphrasing here but, "You have a new OL coach, how's he doing?" Bobby flips his chit and goes full on baby mode... starts mad\upset laughing "haha, you really want me to evaluate my coaches on TV? SERIOUSLY - are you asking me to evaluate my coaches on TV?"kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:40 amI think the difference is that you ask good questions and the coaches know that you really know football. Re: Fall Camp
Couple questions about the scrimmage tomorrow. I don't think it's open to the public (other than QBC), but if anyone can please confirm. Also, do we know if it's full blown, full contact? Obviously there will be some players off limits but other than that is it all go? Reason I'm asking is because I've heard conflicting statements about tackling. Vigen said something like, we doing often tackle to ball to the ground in practice, or something like that. But I've also heard coaches say things like, the only way you get better at tackling is to practice tackling.

I don't know the answer to any of your questions, but I'll say, I went to the scrimmage last weekend and no one was monitoring the gates, anyone could have walked in.catatac wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 1:50 pmCouple questions about the scrimmage tomorrow. If it's a scrimmage, I'd imagine it's full tackle with QB's off limits. Last weekend Taco was off limits during punt return.

Re: Fall Camp
So in practice you don't tackle to the ground, it's called THUD.. basically you make a thud wrap arms let the ball carrier go. Nobody goes to the ground. You also can run to the ball carrier amd "touch off". That's where you run the ball carrier and with your palms up like your going to tackle you get into a hitting position and touch off the ball carrier. Coaches know if you're in the right position due to leverage and hip angles if you will make the tackle or not.catatac wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 1:50 pmCouple questions about the scrimmage tomorrow. When they say they practice tackling they typically are referring to during individual periods they have a tackling circuit to ficus on tackling. Usually it's an open field tackling drill( tackling in space)....2 turnover drills(int drill, stripping the ball, recovering a fumble drill, etc)..... there is a fundamental tackling station correcting body angles, striking, wrapping arms then driving through, and there can sometimes be a chase down/pursuit type tackling drill. That's what they mean by practicing tackling but not tackling during the week. Generally speaking defensive guys are more durable than offensive guys..... getting hit vs doing the hitting. The scrimmage will more than likely be live except qbs and depending on how they do special Teams returner could be off limits as well.
