That should have been an INT but BOTH DBs had a PI. This secondary is NOT good and probably below average.

I would say the safeties are lacking. The cbs are actually doing pretty dang good.

You are not watching the same game...CBs simply cannot tackle. They are a huge part of the problem.

I'm watching the game play by play and I played this game at a high level.... they are there to COVER. 1, 4 and 9 have been in coverage and they haven't missed hardly any tackles. If your cbs are getting to the ball carrier it's a safety and lb problem

You most certainly did not play at a high level if you can't see the CBs and the secondary wit large are very, very mediocre for a FCS team and playing very poorly in this game. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

Big chuckle to read this thread and the ejizz thread. These threads follow the typical pattern every year. The gnashing of teeth in the beginning to joyous feelings at the end. The ejizz thread is gloating at the beginning, saying the fizz will blow the cats out, to giving all sorts of excuses as to why the cats won
We were at the game and it was a blast. We sat behind the cat bench and the lobo fans behind us were mostly pretty good, but they did have a group that was really obnoxious. They were trying to taunt us into a response throughout the game. The police came twice. The second time a relative of number 9 for the cats and some lobo fans got into it. And elderly cat fan was trying to break it up. It was absolutely hilarious!
We saw a great game. I'm not worried about the season.

Just dropped by to say congrats on your great comeback win! I was at the game, and to me, it was New Mexico that looked like the tired team, in the 4th quarter. Giving up 21 points in the 4th, and over 500 yards of total offense is something we’re use to seeing around here. Your team’s toughness and composure really showed up there at the end. And now we all know what kind of team we have here. Lots of fans are saying ‘same as it ever was’. And that wind storm that blew in to disrupt the game, was just the ghosts of Lobos teams past, making sure of that, lol.
I’m afraid it’s gonna be another long season for us, but now coach Mendenhall know what’s he’s got to work with, and what he needs to work on… DEFENSE and STAMINA!

You guys had a great fan base show up as well. Very nice people and very respectful, no gloating or whooping it up in front of obviously dejected Lobos fans. Good luck the rest of the season. I’m sure your team will be in the hunt for the title at the end of the season! I’ll be rooting for you guys!

Watched the game last night. Happy for the win. UNM is not very good. You can tell they have not played together before (all transfers). Our offense has some serious weapons. Rohan Jones is going to be a huge weapon. The entire offensive line was shuffled from last year. Sain not playing at all last year and 2 first time starters at tackle yet they played really well. Some pass blocking issues but that will improve. The D worries me. I thought our Defensive backfield would be good this year but they did not look good yesterday. Even Ortt, who I really like, looked slow. The pass that was dropped on UNM's last drive our DB was 4 yards off the receiver when he dropped it. Not sure if this can be fixed. Maybe those freshmen we brought in need to get a chance before conf play.

I’m curious, how do you think your athletes were in comparison to previous years? I thought there was some speed, but that’s also coming from an FCS standpoint

Seems like a lot of sparky comments. I would think if you dont like seeing emotional in game comments and the back and forth of game day threads don't read it. And especially dont come on after the fact and criticize those who post thru out. Of no one posted this would be a pretty boring place to visit.

I stay away from the game day thread during the game because it is always a sh1t show. A guy makes a mistake and dumb asses are posting to bench him. Pretty sure the best players of all time have made mistakes….

I completely disagree with your comment about criticism though. If you post - emotional or not - you are open to criticism. If you can’t handle the criticism, then don’t post.

Not sure I get your point. Mine was pretty simple. If you criticize (whether it is a poster, player or coach), then you open yourself up for criticism. That seems pretty obvious. For you to say “don’t come out and criticize those who post throughout the game day thread” makes absolutely zero sense. Your advice seems to be “don’t read the gameday thread if don’t like what you are reading”? What??? Do you think everyone should also get a blue ribbon for posting, regardless of how stupid their post is (for example, firing coaches in weak zero against an FBS opponent with a new coach)?
