Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
Wes Banks is an OG, not a TE, he may be small for any D1 consideration, but he would be a wrecker at the frontier level, and holds Frontier offers. Not sure whether he would be a OG or a DE at the next level though, I would think probably DE.

Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
I project where I think kids will play at the next level so despite Wes playing guard I saw him as either an inline tight end or H-back on offense and purely a DE at the next level. Good football player!

Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
He was previously a TE so I thought maybe you had seen old hudl highlights or something. He is a great puller and has great get off speed for the line so I could see him as an inline TE or some other position with a running start at linebackers.

Seems kind of early for a 2026 recruit to commit, but he is going to Boise.

Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
My sense (not based on any insider knowledge) was that this was a young kid who got over-offered at a very young age by some super-big programs before he moved to MT, and showed last year in MT that he was a good prospect but maybe not at the level of the Florida State/Texas A&M type schools that had offered him early.
He had a good committable offer from a fairly nearby school with an excellent football program that would potentially give him a much better shot at playing time, and he decided to take it.

Bridger is a good kid and his teammates gravitate toward him but…
He’s probably playing now with a QB who is better than anyone the Griz have on their roster.
As of now it’s a partial scholarship. He’s fast but not Kash fast.

Did Kash's dad play for the griz during the championship back in 1996? I had a best of Randy Moss Marshall reel come up on my YouTube and the announcer said that "Moss was able to get past Goicoechea." Not a common last name.

One Class B/C kid that should be on MSU/UM's radar is Blaine Downing. Plays RB, H-Back, DE, and LB for Malta. 6'3", 205 lbs. with great length and plenty of room to develop. Runs really well and plays violent but under control. His junior year for Saco, he won the State C 400m (50 seconds) and Pole Vault (15'3") while running about a 11.6 100m. Anyway, a lot to like and he's worthy of a partial on the defensive side of the ball in my opinion. Off to a great start to his senior season.

Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
He's a great athlete, nice to know he's also aggressive on the football field. 15'3" is impressive for anybody at any school, but at a school like Saco that might not have a great pole vault coach and maybe even doesn't have its own PV pits, it's pretty crazy. You just have to take a shot on a guy like that, plus he's playing 11 man football and has that small town grit that so many Malta kids have had. Hopefully one of the coaches is headed up to Malta this weekend for their game against Jefferson and gets eyes on him.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:06 pmOne Class B/C kid that should be on MSU/UM's radar is Blaine Downing. Re: 2025 Montana Recruits
Really unfortunate 247Sports gets to continue to be a massive aggregator account masked as a "recruiting" site. Basically, if you don't attend the right camps in the summer, you may not make the initial "ranking" from 247. Then you magically get to be put into the "ranking" when you start getting offered by MSU or UM (or other FCS/FBS schools). Once you commit to one, they then toss you somewhere but there is no real consistency within the algorithm. Not saying these kids don't deserve to be getting recognition but I can promise you Grant Vigen is not viewed as the top recruit in the state. I'm happy we have him...but 247Sports and their "process" in cringe worthy.

I see he got a gris offer and Vigen is now following him on Twitter/XVimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:06 pmOne Class B/C kid that should be on MSU/UM's radar is Blaine Downing. Well if that's the case, what an awful prospect!AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 1:55 pmI see he got a gris offer and Vigen is now following him on Twitter/XVimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:06 pmOne Class B/C kid that should be on MSU/UM's radar is Blaine Downing. Glad he got a partial because he can play at the FCS level.
