No surprise on Conner. It’s always funny reading the comments in those transfer posts though. Fans trying to get the players to come to their school. Yeah, you didn’t care about the kid when he was in high school but now that some other school has developed him into a great player, you all love him. Same goes for the schools that are recruiting these guys. I do wish there could be some sort of compensation to lower level schools that lose these great players, but I know it will never happen. Oh well, moving on to the players that want to stay. Good luck Conner.

As for Connor, really good player but he got worked last night IMO. Maybe his head was already in the portal counting his money.

A transfer fee would be nice and could be structured by to/from school/conference. The problem is that the NCAA seems to have no authority to do anything any more and the FBS, especially the P4, have no reason to pay lower teams for grabbing their players.

Ok that wasn't completely fair. I'm still feeling the emotions. Sue me.
But I'm not wrong that he struggled in the game. And yes, knowing that you're transferring the next day can have an effect on your play.

It doesn’t matter because as long as NDSU stays in the FCS, we won’t win that game. We got out played and out coached in the first half and for several minutes in the second half. The MVFC is not as strong of a conference as people think and half those teams we be smart to vacate and goes elsewhere. SDSU will be decent, even with the changes. SDU will compete with NDSU but NDSU will win 10 more National Championships before any other team will beat them. That’s the fact people. It’s time to realize that no other team will ever accomplish what they have done. Ever!!

This is a terrible take.

We are there. This Cats team wins that game 3 out of 5 times.

Marcus Wehr and Brody Grebe struggled too. Heck, Tommy was average by his standards. You won’t find a player that didn’t struggle (maybe Ortt). I agree that Moore struggled. I think the idea it’s because he knew he was transferring to be ****** fans say to make themselves feel better. Sometimes there just isn’t a reason other than NDSU played better than we did.

As a fan, I’m firmly against bringing in a one year starter at QB unless it’s the most obvious decision ever and the guy is just too good to pass up. Bringing in a one year guy is the beginning of the cycle the gris are currently in, and we all see how that works out.

If they bring a transfer in that has 2-3 years to play that can be built around a bit, bring it on. And that’s kind of what I expect. Someone to provide depth and competition to Chance and likely River, and let the best man win.

If our current QBs aren't quite ready to take over from day one and we can find a 1 year transfer that obviously could do the job better and would fit right in to the team I'd be on board with bringing that guy in. We have the team and schedule in 2025 to still give the QB2 plenty of game experience.

But if we're bringing in a transfer for competition in the room I'd rather get a guy with 2+ years left. A 1 year guy will almost definitely assume he's coming to be the starter, and could be an issue if he loses the job, whereas a guy with years should be coming in to be part of the team rather than the assumed leader.

So, this is now the future of college football. In all seriousness, to have the mentality that you will bring a player in and have them stay all 4/6 years seems unlikely. That is why I have been saying that I think you need to consider the portal as an option because several players you bring in will only stay two years anyways until they see another opportunity or more money to play. It sucks.
